I recently attended a wellness conference at the Gravenhurst opera House and was taken aback at the beautiful architecture and stained glass windows. The sound quality in the theatre was superb, the beamed vaulted ceilings were divine! The sound quality was excellent, state of the art which was surprising for such a rural location.

We were lucky to catch the play "Wake Me When It's Over", a hilarious romantic comedy, and the next night, the Johnny Max band with singer Cheryl Lescomb. The Gravenhurst Opera House is the perfect size for the audience - not too close, not too far away from the stage. And the downstairs meeting area with bar is an additional... More

A great old small town opera house, renovated beatifully, with very good acoustics, a nice lobby and bar, and a great historic feel throughout.

We went to see a music concert - Alex Pangman. Really enjoyed it Great venue. Nice size for this. We want to see some plays this summer. Only downside, the seats could be more comfortable.

Restored historic opera house in downtown Gravenhurst. Wide variety of acts come to town to play in this intimate setting. Dinner theatre available sometimes.

A group of us attended this excellent play yesterday. The inside of the theater was not what I expected but it was still very nice. The seats were comfortable. The 2 ladies put on a terrific show. It was very funny but several of our group could not understand their accents. May be some of them because they were a... More

We just saw the play Fly me to the Moon at the Opera House and it was professionally performed and very entertaining. The building is historic and creates a good ambiance . I would recommend getting out and watching some good summer theatre at the Opera House. At $36 per ticket, it is very reasonably priced and makes for an... More

Jane Miller and Melee Hutton were excellent in their roles as two Irish PSW's on the "horn's of a dilemma"! Skilled performers, bringing great fun to the theater! The acoustics were excellent.

Two actors in the play - well performed, lively. We enjoyed it thoroughly. Staff was very friendly and venue comfortable and historic. Would recommend it.

The name suggests high art and culture but this gem of an opera house, with its great acoustics, isn't used for opera. It's the home of summer stock productions and some concerts for local people but this good-looking facility in the heart of Gravenhurst could have a much bigger life. It's haunted, they say, by a friendly ghost.
