Gain a greater understanding of the wonderful world of plants from a professional herbalist. Hands-on, interactive workshops teach you about the therapeutic, cosmetic and culinary benefits of herbal plants. Be inspired as you wander through the Butterflies of the World pavilion and various themed gardens. Take a moment to stop and listen to the bubbling waters of the Flowery Brook; discover the little secrets hidden in the Alpine Garden; take a rest under the natural roof of the Shade Garden. Khronos, the Celestial Garden, will have you exploring time and space. Enjoy an aromatic cup of herbal tea to round out your visit, while the beauty of the gardens puts you at peace. Come and enjoy a healthy meal on the patio at Café Fora.

One of my favorite places to spend a few hours. The gardens are beautiful, but I particularly love the medicinal herb garden and learning about the different plants that grow there. It's definitely worth a visit!

Everyone says you must see the fall colours, what they should say to you is, got to the botanical gardens and experience it first hand. Closed for the season, I drove in and walked through the parks expansive collection of trees skipping the formal gardens which could rival the best show gardens... worthy of a summer return trip to see... There are relatively few tourist attractions in this region, so we decided to visit this Botanical garden while in northernmost Maine. It was a big disappointment since most of the flower beds contained plants that had been cut back for the winter (we saw much nicer plantings around the welcome center at Campobello-Roosevelt International Park a few days later, so... This was an entirely pleasant stop for myself and my husband during a drive home to Maine from Quebec via New Brunswick. We are glad that we went and would probably return, especially during a different season. We were there on a Saturday in September which meant it was between the busy summer season and the opening of a fall... More

I thought this would be a special treat for my wife as we began our trip out east. Complete disappointment, save the trip. Every thing was dry, weeds and a complete lack of maintenance. We joked that we got to see more flowers at some of our stops than at this botanical garden.

A beautiful botanical garden to behold where once a drive-in stood! This garden is only 20 years old but it feels a lot more mature. Many nooks and crannies, a rock garden, rose garden, perennial beds and a vegetable garden, a pond to gaze upon from a large gazebo... and much more, guided tours take 1 1/2 hours, well worth... I am a local who went to the Flora Café for the FIRST time! But it won't be my last! I discovered a diamond in the rough today with this exquisite café that serves impeccable food in the loveliest of ambiances! The service with a smile was just an added bonus! And my oh my that dessert menu was simply... More

After driving a while, you will enjoy the walk around these gardens. Edibles mixed with ornamentals. Clever topiaries. Intriguing planting choices. Not your granny's garden.

Very nice gardens with added valse like Café Flora and l'herboristerie, where on week-ends there are lectures/workshops on edible plants, flosers etc
