This place was a serendipitous find! The sign for the historic house caught my eye as I drove along the Route du Navigateur. I pulled in to discover a very old Quebecois house built in the mid 1600's. A very knowledgeable history student on duty...More

Historic house with very informed guides about seigneurial system and living in New France . Explained importance of this particular house and it's construction. Cash sales only for entrance and lovely gift shop .

This house is only open at certain days during the season however you can still browse its grounds and view the outdoor exhibits. Half timbering is displayed along with other types of house construction. Unfortunately, the interpretative displays are written only in French.

and we rapidly can figure out why it is not built like that today. The guided visit is very interesting and recommended and not expensive The free garden are well maintained. If you have the opportunity, that would be a nice place for picnics or...More
