really enjoyed a vigorous hike around the lake. Not too strenuous but some good uphill stretches. Beautiful scenery. We went for a swim afterwards and the lake was quite warm. Parking lot was a close walk to the beach.

We went off season and it was beautiful. However, came back on Father's Day and it was a zoo. It's a beautiful lake to visit when the crowds aren't there.

Went in the spring and the lake looked a little chilly! Lots of fishermen wading in the waters with their hip-high waders! Beautiful forest area and lots of people walking their dogs. Good signs to get there.

Many people of all ages come to Matheson Lake to bask in the shade or sun and swim or kayak or paddle board. Make sure you don't swim alone and swim out to the island and back. There are washrooms there to change.

Beautiful trail around the lake which is a bit up and down. If you have issues with natural trail or if there has been recent rain take the galloping goose. If a little mud doesn’t bother you take the round the lake route. Go left...More

a very good walk around the lake, but as soon as the people with their dogs arrive, unleashed, peaceful time is over, chased the birds and me away.

Matheson Lake is a traditional swimming spot long used by locals. It's a short walk downhill to get there, The beach access spot is fairly small, and can be a bit muddy if you want to keep your feet clean after you get out. Water...More
