Located at City Hall on the intersection of Hwy. 16 & 17. The border markers signify the provincial boundary and 4th meridian which marks the Alberta/Saskatchewan border. These four markers are 100 feet high. All shaped like the survey stakes used during the original survey...More

More of an anomaly for this city which straddles the provincial border. Those driving on the Yellowhead Trail will get their own indication of crossing the provincial borders with these markers (other than a small sign on one of the traffic lights.) Not really memorable,...More

World Tallest and Magnificent Markers on Alberta & Saskatchewan Border in the city of Lloydminster. You can see the borderline clearly and stand in both provinces at the same time.

Stop and view the Border Markers and step between Sask. and Alta. Take a few pictures to mark the occasion and show friends and relatives at home!

Likely not worth a special stop, but it is neat to drive past these and know that you're at the exact point of the border. We also enjoyed that there are smaller ones at intersections in the City, which were good for photos.

They look very well maintained, it's very different to see something like that. I think it is well worth the time to take it in. It's something you won't see everywhere.

You'll know you've made it to Lloydminster when you see these bright orange markers towering over the border. Right on Main Street.
