Loved seeing all of the houses built on the tiny islands. The boat ride was a little windy and cool (although if you sat inside the covered area of the boat it wasn't bad). Only complaint was the inability to hear what our guide was saying due to people talking while he was speaking. Highlight of the tour was seeing/touring... More

As we had no ESTA verification (not sure if really required - valid passport needed) to enter USA Heart Island with beautiful Boldt Castle, we took the 2,5 hour cruise "lost ships of the 1000 Islands" and were very pleased. On this tour the boat circles Heart Island (twice!) and passes through beautiful islands and homes alternating Canada and USA.... More

We did the boat ride to the cattle. Bring your password if you want to stop and view the cattle. If you do not have a passport you will be able to go in the boat ride, but you will not be able to stop in the cattle. The food at the restaurant in the cattle was not good.

Friendly crew - good snack bar - plenty to see and room to walk around. The cruises offered are varying lengths and some include dinner.

If you're in the area and have visiting friends, or are just touring the region then taking one of these tours is a "must do" activity. There are one hour tours and longer too, so don't miss the opportunity!

With the options of 1, 3, and 5 hour tours, there is an option for any kind of traveller who finds themselves in Gananoque. It is an absolute must to get out on the river while in the area, and a boat tour is the perfect way to enjoy the views (from the top deck especially).

I took a cruise to boldt castle with my 4 year old daughter on a Saturday in late August. I recommend showing up early to get a decent seat as the boat was very full. The views were beautiful and the video they played highlighting historic ship wrecks was informative.
