New Year's day walk to shake off the previous evening's shenanigans. There is a mixture of made surface and forest tracks. Some great wood carvings on the fallen logs - great. Some folly and odd bits and pieces were interesting to see too. The walled...More

We had a weekend in Suffolk & decided to visit the Thornham Estate to do a walk. There is plenty of parking, we opted for the overflow car park across the road which was a lot quieter. There is a lovely kids playground & two...More

Great place for a local walk, there's some tarmac paths for pushchairs etc but also trails for larger walks. There's a cafe which is usually quite busy but it's opposite a child playground. Also has a restaurant which is good (near the wedding venue so...More

We love this place. Close enough to bring the children on a regular basis. Cafe is a nice, friendly place to sit & relax whilst children can play in the park directly outside. Facilities near the play area are usually clean & haven't had any...More

The walks are generally at their quietist at @9am and the birds / wildlife at their most relaxed. About half a mile up the paved walkway you catch the squirrels darting around their daily business usually in fairly large numbers. The other squirrel family can...More

The whole area is very beautiful and offers different lengths of walks. You can choose a circular walk mostly on footpaths or go for a longer trail that takes you around the edges of fields and through woodland. I can recommend the Forge cafe after...More

My boyfriend and I really enjoyed a weekend of walking the many miles of Thornham walks and all it had to offer. Fantastic routes, great views and a few pubs / cafes along the walk to break up the long journey and aching legs. We...More

Not sure, kids use small bikes on the tarmaced paths but I’m not sure about big bikes. Having said that the path network is not that extensive for speeding bikes who will soon run out of space.
