Marshfield Bakery was started in 1984 by Paul and Lynne White in their farmhouse kitchen in Marshfield, a small village on the Cotswold Way that would come to influence the products made by the couple and their employees. The business began to expand, with interest growing in the local Cotswold Company and its selection of flapjacks, shortbreads, biscuits and loaf cakes, which meant that the location needed to be upsized. Marshfield Bakery has now moved to its third site on the A46 just outside Bath, after a brief production run at their second site - a larger farmhouse just outside of the village. This third site was opened in 2008 by HRH Camilla Duchess of Cornwall and continues to thrive in the countryside environment. With just under fifty employees, Marshfield Bakery has expanded significantly since its humble beginnings but still retains its family values and a grade 'A' BRC accreditation. Visit our shop at Tolldown Barn, just off the M4 at Junction 18.

Located on the A46 near Dyrham, Marshfield Bakery sells a limited but interesting range of tray bakes (caramel shortbread, tiffin, blackcurrant shortbread and various flapjacks) as well as some farmhouse style loaf fruit cakes. The tray bakes are priced at £4.80 and seemed expensive to me, however the 'grab bags' made up of misshapen pieces of the tray bakes were... More

This is not at all what I expected. We thought we were visiting a working bakery, able to see the work and purchase something freshly baked afterwards. But no. It was a tiny crummy shop, where no staff member greeted you. They all seemed to be in offices at the back busy on computers and the rest of the building... More

Visit was pre Aug'15 and near to Christmas. Had a guided tour donned in all the hygiene gear. Very interesting. Ben made us very welcome and we got to try some samples after. Delicious cakes and ice cream etc for purchase for yourself, as gifts or for corporate events.

Stopped here on a whim on the way home from Bristol and was very glad we did. It's not very big but we bought possibly the best strawberry shortcake I've ever tasted, well worth the price!

I have passed this bakery shop before and this time decided to stop. It was early on a Monday afternoon and the shop was empty. I was disappointed at the lack of bread on offer. I bought a small wholemeal loaf and flapjacks. The bread was lovely but I wouldn't bother to stop again.

Thank you for your review Muara. As we are not a bread bakery, we have our bread delivered in fresh every morning from a local bakery in Bristol. We only have a small selection on offer - to leave lots of room for our yummy flapjacks and shortbread - so it tends to sell out quite quickly. Hopefully you will... More

Driving down to Cornwall from Manchester is a long trip! My wife and I were relieved to see what appeared to be an excellent place for a rest and coffee. We were very pleased with what we found. The most gorgeous tasting flapjacks and fully functioning coffee machine! We were greeted by a lovely face and did not feel pressured... More

I rang from a well established publishing company earlier on today asking to speak with someone with regards to advertising (not a cold call) and the man that answered was unnecessarily rude. I hope he doesn't speak this way to his customers as it would inevitably result in losing custom.

We happened upon this combo wholesale/retail bakery by accident and what a serendipitous find! They stock the entire range of local mouth-watering Marshfield ice creams but we took advantage of their baked goods, snacking on freshly made meringues and chocolate-sultana flapjacks. Yummy!
