It was close to sunset when we saw this gorgeous view. The colors of the layers of the rocks with the sun hitting it was stunning!

If you're doing the loop drive while in Drumheller- it's an interesting place to get out of the car and enjoy the scenery
There are information boards around which are very helpful. Good footwear is required as it is steep rough paths to walk round. Helicopter tours available from here too. Therewas also a little gift shop but as yet no coffe shop
We we'd to the North through the the man passageway and then down into the canyon via a gentle slope. There were signs explaining the flora and fauna of the area and some lookout points. We saw a mule deer bound through the valley September...More
Fabulous view from the top. Great for taking pictures. You can also hike inside the horseshoe shaped canyon. Wear proper shoes and enjoy!
Not to be missed; excellent views of the dramatic Badlands around Drumheller. Good for a hike or a helicopter scoping trip
We stopped here for a picnic on our way from Calgary to Drumheller. There are picnic tables and great views.
While this is probably best when you enter Drumheller for your first view of the Badlands, I saw it on the way back to Calgary. It offers stunning views from above and for those so inclined you can hike for a closer look.
This is a must see. The view is spectacular and you can hike in the canyon, but if you do bring proper foot ware and a walking stick. There are little ground squirrels that you can feed by hand. They are very sweet and tame.
On our way to the Tyrrell Museum we encountered the road to the Horseshoe Canyon. The contrast of the prairie to the 'pre-historic' landscape was mind boggling. We were rushed, otherwise we would have enjoyed the trails through a time past. If you only have...More
