Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The park is dedicated to the former mayor of Burnaby and it seems it was his favourite walking area. It is a lovely park with plenty of options. You can have a picnic or a barbecue, or go fishing or swimming or kayaking. It is very popular with dog owners as this is an off-leash park and dogs can be seen running around on the grass or darting into the water. There is a very nice walking trail which takes around the waterfront. All in all, a great place to spend morning or afternoon or evening depending on your preference

I never knew the history of the park but was fascinated by reading it, and be able to visit it today, going back in time over 100 years to see what the rough life was like here. One can still imagine the town with hundreds of mill workers from overseas, contributing to the early BC economy. It’s worth coming to the beach as well or to take an easy walk by the water.

Go for a nice walk by the water and enjoy the view of the mountains! Lots of parking available and we saw lots of excited dogs going for a dip in the water.

Used to love this place for the off leash dog park. Now it's over run with people picnicking, barbecuing, and crabbing. Why anyone would want to sit on dog poop grass while fishing for crab in the dog pee water is beyond me. There's a whole east side of the park for people, but some are so inconsiderate and seem to not care that although they have a choice where they want to socialize, the dogs ONLY have this area. But then again, tacky people do tacky things I suppose. Just today, several members of a large family gathering were seen creeping into the bushes to "do their business" when there was a porta potty less than 10 feet away. 🤷🏻‍♀️ who's the "animal" now? Disgusting.

Great location by water for walking on level, wide paths. Easy to keep distanced. Nice views of Indian Arm, Deep Cove, and passing boats, paddle boards, ships.

Easy Kayak location. Go early as it gets crowded. Found a good BBQ spot. Lots of fun. Finding a parking spot can be challenging but go early.

We went as soon as the restriction was lifted. Being home for almost 3 months was necessary for everyone's safety.

It was a rainy day, so we had to pack up right away. Parking is far from where the beach is, walking was a challenge.

Taking photos and spending timw with my family and friends were my main reasons why this was an enjoyable experience. Rain or shine.

Out to go for a walk to Barnet Marine Park. A great place for a family picnic. Off leash dog area, and an area to swim in the summer. Love to see the ships going up and down the inlet. Handicapped parking near the park lots of parking in designated areas at the entrance. Lots of shady areas for summer days.

Off leash trail needs some gravel in the drainage canals, most of the time its a big mud pit along side of the walk and if you're on the other side by the ocean the dog is constantly trying to get at raw chicken scraps and crab guts by the exploding population of crabbers that are always down there now. Hard to keep off leash dogs away from raw chicken used in their crabbing pots along the shore. I don't know why they are allowed in the off leash area since its so small. Why not fish further down the park where off leash dogs not allowed?

Just discovered that there is an off leash dog area. Good 40 minute walk and spot for the dogs and humans.
