We took the Pure Orca Kayak Tour in October and it was an amazing experience. I'm not the "wild" sort of person and I really don't enjoy camping that much, but when my husband told me about it, and just mention we would be encountering ORCAS in our way I started with kayak lessons myself to be as ready as... In mid-June 2012 we spent several hours with kayaking guides Mack and Sophie exploring Granite Bay and into Small Inlet on Quadra Island. Twelve years ago on a drizzly day, we first saw Granite Bay while exploring the back roads on the island. Finding the bay on a Quadra Island map and noticing how big the bay is, with islands... The 5 Day desolation Sound Kayaking trip with the "Out for adventure" Company, based on Quadra Island BC was fantasti8c in every way: The logistics were excellent, the equipment top notch, the food was plentiful and exceptionally prepared ( by our guide Jessica), and our needs ( vegetqarian, plus gluten free were totally supplied! The itinerary was excellent, with a... More

I went on a base camp trip in Sept. 2008 with three friends. We stayed on Quadra the day before and left on day one from the office. The water taxi ride was rough and slow because of wind and when we got there we couldn't kayak on the first day. This was four years ago and we were on... More

I was looking for a vacation for myself and my 21 year old son before he headed off to college. It took us some time to find something we both thought we would enjoy but we finally decided on the 5 day Orca Expedition on Johnstone Strait with Out For Adventure in July. The trip was everything we had hoped... More

My husband and I built our own kayaks, but were nervous to take them out on the 'big water' for the first time by ourselves. We are semi experienced kayakers, just needed the experience of an expedition. During this expedition we had rain, wind, sun and fog, so it was the contagious enthusiasm of our guide that kept everyone engaged,... More

We (3 adults, 2 adolescents) went on the 5 day Orca expedition. The brochure was very clear that a risk existed of NOT seeing Orca. This was fair and realistic. As it was, we saw adult and juvenile Orca hunting, a range of whales and dolphins, seals, and lots of bald eagles. On one memorable night, we stood on the... More

I've done the orca adventure trip twice with Out for Adventure. Both times we saw orcas, which yes, are not guaranteed. What is guaranteed is an amazing area, superior guides, amazing food and a fun experience. I am a kayaker and have done several unguided tours, as well as guided tours. Out for Adventure is our choice if you are... More

First, let me say, we greatly enjoyed our kayaking trip. But as fair warning to people, like me, who are going on the trip PRIMARILY to see orcas in their natural habitat; don’t get too excited. I know the company will say that there is no guarantee to see orcas, but the name of the trip and the incredible pictures... More
