Because we were here in September/October time, the pools weren't open but the park is a delightful area, very well maintained and with stunning views over the west arm of Kootenay Lake and Nelson city. The trees were in full autumnal colours, which were simply...More

We looked around Gyro Park. It is so nice with all the flowers. The little ones like to play in the playground and go on the slide. Too bad the swimming pool wasn't open. It looked so inviting for the children. Very shallow. Good for...More

Off the beaten path, but easy to reach by car or foot. Nice view of the city of Nelson and the lake. It was a nice place to visit on our walk after having breakfast.

Nelson has several parks to enjoy, the most popular being Lakeside park. My favourite is Gyro Park, situated on the mountainside, just below the hospital. Green lawns, beautiful flower gardens, several foot paths, a playground, and spectacular view of Nelson below. In the summer months,...More

Gyro park is great for picnics and children climbing in the small outdoor play area but the most fun is running around the trails and overbridges over the running water and gorges. There is a city run pool... free yet....and the kids spend hours there...More

Well worth visiting for the view of Nelson. We even pushed a wheel chair along the path so that my sister could enjoy the view.

Gyro Park has something for all ages. There's a pool and a playground, a gazebo and a lookout where you can see all of Nelson. There are also trails through big trees with benches interspersed. There are also beautiful gardens that are well maintained.

Gyro park has a great outdoor pool. Pool entry is free but the pool is more of a wading pool and isn't very deep. Adults must be with a child to use the pool. The park has a small playground and a great view point...More

The gardens are beautiful, the lookout gives you a great view of the city and the lake. The pool is for kids only, but is clean and refreshing for them! Great place for a picnic or gathering too.
