I stopped in to the Chase and Warren Winery, 6253 Drinkwater Road, Port Alberni, British Columbia. Really enjoyed talking to Vaughan Chase, a very informed wine maker. I tasted their wine. They have a case lot promotion sale! I went away with a case of 12 bottles of GEWURZTRAMINER for $125 and a case of CABERNET SAUVIGNON for $150. That's... More

We took the train to the winery for a tasting. It was a lovely experience, however the day was very hot and the wine was sitting out in the sun, which made the tasting a bit unpleasant. Hot wine is not all that appealing. But the scenery and the experience was very much enjoyed. The lunch served was very good... More

Although the winery is beautiful we recently had a problem with one of the products. When we drank a bottle of Bacchus, a white wine, there were extremely large crystals in the bottle and in our glasses. We did not know what they were and were very frightened that we had ingested something toxic, even possibly glass shards. When we... More

A recent visit to this small winery was a super experience. The winery did not charge for the extensive wine tasting of 6 wines and the wines themselves are very reasonably priced. The winery owner was very willing to share his knowledge and experience and this added to the overall experience. I bought a case of wine for delivery after... More

We took the train up to the winery. The owner met us at the train platform. The train trip made the whole experience even better. We walked through the vineyard with the owner and he told us about the various grapes and vines. He is very knowledgable and talked to us on our level. u The wine is very good.... More

I would definitely recommend this little winery. The wine was very good, light and pretty unique. The tasting room was small, but the winery is very unique and the grounds are really nice. Staff was great and if you are passing through Vancouver Island, this is a good stop.

I heard about this winery years ago but didn't have a chance to visit until this summer. The tasting room is small and unassuming but matches any tasting room in a commercialized winery. We spent over an hour tasting the numerous variety of wines, with a passionate description and history of each delivered by Orval. Well worth a visit. The... More

We had tasted some of their wine at a friends house, and felt it was worth the trip to Port Alberni to get some for ourselves. The owner goes above and beyond with information about their wine and the wine names, which was very interesting. Their wines are very tasty, well priced, and not high falutin like some of the... A great little gem of the Alberni Valley. The couple of times that I've been they have been wonderfully friendly, quite knowledgeable and very passionate. It's neat that many of the wines have names in reference to the area. Free tastings. There's even special steam train rides that go out to the winery. Worth a visit.
