While in the area on a business trip, I wanted to make a small expedition on my own and in an unusual season. None of the other outfitters could help me, but Blake at Batstar not only rented me a boat and gear to make it happen, but was extremely helpful with local information and planning resources. The price was... More

We went on the "Broken Group Islands Weeklong" trip with Batstar, which was absolutely perfect for our two families of friends. There were 4 adults and 4 kids (age 9 to 14). Since we made a similar journey as a couple in 1996, we know how much work is involved in planning, organizing, packing and cooking for such a trip:... More

Booked a four day trip to the broken group through batstar. The guides Phil and Kelsey made the trip they put alot of thought into where we went each day. they were both very knowledgable about the history in the brokn group and the sealife surrounding us. The food was fantastic and the pace of the trip was great just... More

This was my 3rd trip with Batstar. Second time to the Broken Island group. Very well organized both pre trip and during. Great food, excellent guides, spectacular ocean life and calm seas. Kayaks were safe and comfy. Yes, it is camping- with quality tents, sleeping bags, and thermarests. The land accommodation in town is simple but comfortable. I requested a... More

We had a guide - Phillip who made our adventure so carefree and enjoyable from start to finish. We had the pleasure if viewing sealife in calm waters just as you would be looking into an aquarium. LOVED IT.

Second Batstar wilderness kayaking and camping outing for my husband and myself this August. This time to the Broken Group Islands in Barclay Sound. Last summer to Clayquot Sound. Both multi-day. Guides highly competent. Good equipment. Special bonus: gourmet food. Both trips have a "home island" so you're not moving camp once you settle in. Take paddles out from that... More

My wife & I took the Broken Islands weekend with a couple of friends. It was a fantastic 4 days in the islands. The scenery was outrageously good; the whales and other marine life were a bonus. Our guides were were extremely knowledgeable and just great people to be with. The whole trip was great from start to finish. It... More

Our family of 4, with two boys aged 11 and 13, thoroughly enjoyed our sea kayaking trip of the Broken Group Islands with Batstar. Every aspect of the trip was a great experience - from the initial booking call with Blake to being dropped off at the rental car location in town. Blake, Rhonda and their daughters happily catered to... More

Had an amazing week sea kayaking. Everything was first class. Our two Guides Laurel and Chealse were outstanding! Their expertise and knowledge of the area was greatly appreciated by all. The meals were fantastic! Our group of 8 (age 49 to 59) thoroughly enjoyed camping out and our daily adventures from Dodds island. Highly recommend Batstar
