A number of old buildings brought from around Canada to preserve them. From a saloon to ironmongers to shop to hotel to a place of ill repute! It will take about two hours to explore properly, after which you can get a hotdog from a stall outside!Visited July 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 18 August 2024
- Jeannie W2 contributionsDon’t miss it !Just a really fantastic place to visit . Highly recommended it particularly if you are in to the past and trains . An amazing collection and actual old buildings that have been moved to the site. An incredible undertaking and great story of the man who built it . A great collection also of old ford model T’sVisited August 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 21 August 2024
- Wilf RChilliwack, Canada4 contributionsAn interesting adventureA rather extraordinary place!!! It is a maze of interesting spaces: from an interior garden to a library, to a swimming pool, to a games area, a gift shop and cafeteria. The outside appearance gives it a beautiful, stately look, although our rooms were somewhat dated. Loved the garden area, the view of the lake, enjoyed tremendously the heritage village and the round house. It's a great stay for a family. We would have given it a higher rating, but our breakfast was terrible, and it was not cheap. We did not stay for dinner, fearing it would be the same as breakfast.Visited September 2024Travelled with familyWritten 8 September 2024
- peperiAuckland Central, New Zealand225 contributionsIf you don't stop over on your travels you've missed a chance to sample the quirkiness of BC history. The ghost town attached to the hotel is an attraction in itself in which you can easily spend a day exploring and learning about the region around Revelstoke and the 3 Valleys gap hotel. We were fascinated by the 25+ restored buildings that the Hotel had rescued and refurbished and in the process learnt about the history of British Columbia. Added to the historic buildings the Ghost Town sports a collection of 14 restored antique cars dating from 1902, a railway roundhouse with examples of rollingstock which includes Pierre Trudeau's ofiicial carriage and a quirky carriage of horrors showcasing novelties collected from the local fun fairs.Visited July 2024Travelled with familyWritten 18 September 2024

This place is not worth the stop (And please AVOID actually staying at this hotel at all costs!!! It's Terrible).
This ghost town consists of completely random buildings, of very little historical significance and props inside that have zero historical accuracy (ie general stores from early 1900s would have spice shakers I used to have in the 1980s). It's just a bunch of buildings and stuff that the original owners (who appear to be complete hoarders) just bought and put on display.
And then there's this train ride every hour that you pay extra for. It takes you through the woods, and you see one display at the end. The conductor literally didn't even greet any of us waiting for the ride. No explanation of any of the history, anything we were looking at (which wasn't much), no nothing. It was laughable at how bad it was. He didn't say 1 word.
There's also a Halloween 'ghost' train inside which is honestly terrifying with ZERO warnings that kids shouldn't enter.
Drive right past it, as you probably have dozens of times. It's not worth the stop, nor is the hotel.

Takes about an hour to see all the artifacts which they have an abundance of!! I thought this was a true ghost town but most of the buildings have been moved from other locations to create the ghost town. The train ride is separate from admission and costs 4 dollars which we didn’t do. I didn’t really care for the mannequins as it’s supposed to be a “ghost town” and just found them silly. The best part is the Round house. The car collection is amazing to see. Worth a stop.

I wasn’t expecting to see SO MUCH stuff and for the admission price of $14, it’s more than reasonable! I was so impressed at how everything was put together...you can tell how much work they’ve put into everything. Got some great pictures and learned some history while getting to enjoy the ghost town. I would highly recommend checking this place out.

A ghost town? Just a collection of disorganised buildings that desperately try to suggest it is a ghost town.
To begin with, you do get the vibe of an abandoned gold mining community but it soon becomes a disjointed and unkept tourist attraction!
It doesn’t take long to walk around and within five minutes you have gone from old buildings with antiques to a miserable attempt at a railway museum. They should close this part and until they can steamroll more funding and expand on the railway side.
We didn’t stay at the hotel so won’t comment in regards to this but do not get excited by the cafe/ restaurant. This was a pure insult to the taste buds. We were apart of a group and most had to leave the appalling food on offer.
Overall there is potential for the ghost town, the railway part needs to hit brakes until more can be added to the collection and the head chef sent for culinary training!
An embarrassment to Canada!

Stopped here en route from Sun Peaks to Revelstoke. Interesting and popular place, even though it was pushing 35C. Selection of historic gold-rush and railway-construction era buildings with all manner of period artefacts and some slightly creepy mannequins. Also a collection of old trains and carriages in the roundhouse. Look out for the Bottlehouse, Joe’s hut and the Schoolhouse rules for teachers.

Ghost Town doesn't do justice to this place. We spent 4 hours here plus a meal. There are buildings full of old materials and some well-labeled museum-like exhibits. They've moved many different kinds of historic buildings here from around the area. The train barn is possibly larger than the Revelstoke railway museum and you can walk through many of the passenger cars and a caboose. There is a "haunted" car for older kids' enjoyment. With saloon, black smith, chinese laundry, hardware store, jail, etc. Good variety. They also have classic old cars and old buggies.

You really have to see this to believe it. We stopped here in Aug 2020 and we only had a few hours. I just knew I had to come back and make a weekend of it and that’s what we did. It’s honestly one of the coolest museums I’ve ever been to. And it’s just unimaginable that one family (mostly one man ) collected it all. My mind is just blown. We spent 5 hours there and there’s no way you could read everything and look at it all. The scale of it all is really impressive. I really enjoyed that you could go into almost everything. My absolute favourite is the round house with all the trains. There’s a little shop made to look like a general store in the middle. You can get snacks and souvenirs there. That was so cool. 10/10. I’ll recommend this place to everyone I know.

Stopped here on our way through to Revelstoke and we really loved looking around the "ghost town". The authentic buildings with all the artifacts gave you a real idea of what it was like. Admittedly the mannequins didn't add much to the experience but you can see past them!
