There is no way to compare the Marine Atlantic ferry's North Sydney to Port-aux-Basques ferry service to anything else. They are the only game in town. We have brought our car and ourselves to this ferry 14 times in 15 years (seven round trips). Five...More

Ferry service to Newfoundland is smooth and efficient. Well organised in loading the vehicles onto the ferry and a smooth ride across the water. Plenty of seating to accommodate everyone on board. Unloading was just as efficient.

Did a night crossing. Reserved seats don’t recline enough to sleep comfortably, feet also slightly off the floor. Ended up sleeping on the floor. Bring a blanket or warm clothes, the whole ship gets pretty cold. Buy a snack before you get on the boat...More

We traveled to Newfoundland in September. First time visit. The ferry ride and experience was a good one overall. I have been on ferries before, but not one that was supposed to be 6.5 hours long. It is also the first time we are traveling...More

Extremely efficient and interesting. Even though we travel during the daylight hours we booked a cabin and were glad we did when the seas got rough. Food was well above average and service great.

I live in NL so maybe that puts a different perspective on using the ferry than for tourists. And I’ve been using the ferrys to travel to the mainland for almost 35 years now. And to some extent the service has gotten better. At least...More

What could be the beginning of a great Newfoundland experience for visitors has been reduced to the equivalent of another truck stop. The staff on the vessel are as friendly as you can find anywhere. What is missing is a lack of management and attention...More

Corvettes go on the ferry. Cars and truck of all kinds. You may want to remeasure the length of the car. I’ve never seen a Chevy corvette that 7’ size.

Can't recall the names - it was two different sailings - one night and one day sailing - both on the North Sydney / Port aux Basque route.
