The city is nice actually quite beautiful and clean, however the beach is a terrible place especially in long weekends. Hundreds of thousands of visitors from everywhere are overcrowding the place, the sand is fine but the water is full of algae at least for the first few metres from the shore. I would not go in the water. Laudable... More

This is a fantastic beach. It's only an hour away from Toronto so an easy day trip. The sand is fantastic and clean. There are lifeguards. The beach has washrooms, a small playground and splash pad as well. Parking near the beach is very limited. We were there at 10:00am on a Saturday and parking was almost full. the town... More

Great beach to drive to for the day . It is clean, has washroom and food facilities, supervised by lifeguards and clean water to swim in. Been going there for many years of day trips. Near beach great ice cream place, marina and restaurant .

Coming from a caribbean country my standar are pretty high, so I'll say that for a lake beach it surprised me in a good way. The sand was clean (not as white as the caribbean beaches) and not muddy, although too many algae in the left side. The water was clear and the temperature was fine and fit for a... More

The beach, the marina & the immediately adjacent downtown core are all part of the package that saw me move to Cobourg a little over a year ago. I had driven the 401 between Montreal & Toronto for over 25 years without ever having stopped here & it was a shock to "discover" it all when we went looking for... More

We had a great time at the beach for this little festival. It was a beautiful sunny day and it was packed. This is a family beach with numerous life guard towers on an all sand beach. This is the perfect place to catch a few rays, work on your tan...and people watch!

Awesome beach, but hard to enjoy yourselves when you have 17-year-old lifeguards on power-trips blowing their whistles and using their bullhorns every 3 minutes to yell at everyone for just about anything. Made 4 little kids cry while we were there (on separate occasions), scared away a couple in an inflatable dingy with paddles that just wanted to take their... More

It's a nice beach in a small Ontario town. Expansive white sand. The water is clean and clear, but some seaweed does wash up. The day we were there was very busy.

We moved to Cobourg a year ago and don't regret a single minute. There is so much going on in the summer that its hard to keep up with everything. People are genuine and friendly and will stop and talk at most opportunities. Fantastic place to raise children with walks in the Northumberland Forest or trips on the train to... More
