Open year round, Wye Marsh is an excellent place to get outdoors and get close to nature. Situated on 3,000 acres of National and Provincial Wildlife Area, the centre is teaming with fantastic wildlife viewing opportunities. From trumpeter swans to painted turtles there is always something to see from the 25 km of trails and boardwalks. We also offer naturalist guided tours and programs that will take you into the marsh. We offer guided canoe/kayak tours, walks with a naturalist and equipment rentals (bike, ski and snowshoe) to further explore the marsh. Our interpretive centre has live reptiles and amphibians and birds of prey demonstrations. Throughout the year we run special events, workshops and speaker presentations. Escape, explore and experience nature at it's best with Wye Marsh.

Naturally beautiful

The birds chirping and singing were beautiful. A little squirrel was fascinating. Just a nature's wonderland. Great experience.

Came here today with a friend and had my first experience of walking in traditional snow shoes on snow that was just thawing out. Enjoyed walking on the trails and having a go at holding an Owl. Also really like feeding the tame birds. An enjoyable day out whatever the weather!

Jaw dropping openness and beauty of the place should draw in many tourists! Feeding the chickadees, adventuring along the boardwalk, witnessing wildlife increases the splendor of the place.

Fascinating and informative centre. Relaxing, beautiful setting, so much available to view and learn about. I have been going there for years, and I have never been disappointed. A must see for all ages!.

Wye Marsh near Martyr's Shrine is one of the most under-rated places in Ontario. It's huge. I like the fact that it's not overrun with visitors but, seriously, it should have a much higher profile because it's wildly beautiful.

The Wye Marsh is an amazing place year round. in winter you can cross country ski or snow shoe. You don't need the equipment because you can rent it on site. Loads of programs to expand your mind and interact with wildlife. Took a class on making baby moccasins, liked it so much I took the class to make adult... More

Went on the first snowshoe ecotour today! Leader Justin did an amazing job explaining about the marsh itself, about the woodlands we tromped through, and the various local animals. We stopped for a rest and to enjoy snacks of bannock and cedar tea at a campfire. We were a small group with a couple of seniors who had limited experience... More

Love the Wye Marsh! The staff are super knowledgeable and lends to a great experience at the Marsh. Great for people of all ages. If you can make it to a birds of prey show, highly recommend! They have lots of events going on regularly and are dog friendly which we love!

Nice trails. They have canoe trips with guides. Make sure you stay with your party and finish your walk and get out of the woods before dark. We booked a canoe trip and the guide was almost 15 minutes late. There is also a part where they keep owls and big birds in cages and I felt bad for them.... More

Thank you so much for your review. We really appreciate getting feedback so that we can make improvements. I'm sorry to hear that you didn't feel that our facility was good for visits with children. We have many school groups and families that like to visit the marsh throughout the year. I would be interested to hear more about any... More
