The Abbotsford Sikh Temple (Gur Sikh Gurdwara) is a Canadian National Historic Site and the oldest standing gurdwara in Canada. This hundred year old religious institution of the Sikhs was built by struggling pioneers starting in 1908, and is a testament to the pride, vision and steadfastness of a pioneer community at the turn of the last century. Today the grand old temple is restored to its former glory by the governing body of the temple, The Khalsa Diwan Society of Abbotsford, BC.Tours are arranged for visitors by calling ahead.

The Langer they provide is not limited to the Sikh. They wont discriminate you according to your color, race, creed or appearence. If you are hungry and want a bit you are always welcome. The authentic Punjabi flavor is written all over

This is the oldest existing Sikh Temple in Canada and sits across the street from a newer temple. I took my class here and we received a special tour which included the small museum in the basement.

The site of the first Temple in all of USA and Canada, built by the first Sikh man. A very impressive and spiritual place. Fabulous huge statues of horses outside and the history of Abbotsford Sikhs in Canada is proudly displayed in photos inside.
