I LOVE this place. The outdoor arena is hidden down a path surrounded by trees. There is a small concession area and indoor space to put on your skates. There are no rentals and the ice is a bit more bumpy than an indoor arena, more like a pond surface would be. However, being outside surrounded by the snow covered... More

How sad that Cedarena was unable to open this past winter. I want to thank all the volunteers who gave so much of their time and energy to operate and maintain this magical outdoor skating rink for many years. I am a senior now but remember vividly my Saturday night skates with my teenage friends under the stars and sipping... More

Skating in an Arena is good exercise, but the aesthetics are not that good. Cedarena is an opportunity to skate on great ice, under the stars if you choose with the real feeling of being away from the city...cause you are...just like our parents used to do.

It was nice to go there, sit in the shack on a bench putting on your skates or maybe get a hot chocolate to warm yourself up. Hidden little gem, outdoor skating rink, great to take your kids to or watch an older couple holding hands & skating around to the music. But it has closed due to inconsistent weather... More

This Really Was A Great Place To Skate And Just Get Out Of The City For A Bit. Sadly, today, I read that it will not open this year or so the story goes. To be replaced by yet another, no doubt, shoddy built community of homes where the driveways are not big enough for today's family with more than... More

You have to hit the right window to enjoy this quaint attraction. The weather has to be cold enough to freeze the ice. It is a great afternoon or evening for family fun. Hot chocolate and snacks are delicious. Highly recommended.

This 87 year old rink takes you back to a simpler time. Allows you to just relax, breath fresh air and enjoy being nostalgic. It's therapy :) A true Gem , a must experience. Gary and Lisa make you feel Welcome and treat you like family . Old wooden change house with fire burning stove and lots of hot chocolate... More

Cedarena is located just North East of Toronto, Ontario in the City Of Markham. The skating rink has been writen about in newspapers and featured on local news stations over the years. The rink and it's facade is dated which makes the environment wonderful and laid back. With old time music belted out over decades old speakers. The water is... More
