Built in 1894 in the historic fishing village of Steveston, the Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site is one of B.C.'s few historically intact canneries. The 121 year old cannery is now home to a museum commemorating the history of Canada's West Coast fishing industry from the 1870's to the present. Learn about our unique local history through interactive exhibits and activities for visitors of all ages!

Fabulous place to spend a rainy afternoon. Tour was terrific. Lots of photos taken. Nice gift shop. Close to harbour and all types of restaurants and shopping

Such an eye-opening museum, featuring an important industry from Canada's past. Loved the current focus on women's contribution on the Homefront during the war. Very informative and realistic. Great gift shop too.

Atmospheric building. Good tour of canning line. Amazing machinery. No wonder theres not many fish left. Perhaps its been cleaned up a bit too much...

Average, at best. There aren't many interesting things to see and there's nothing that stands out. The only reason you'd want to visit this is if you're interested to know more about Steveston's history. And that's cool, too. But if you aren't a history buff...More
