Auckland's Central City Library is a modern, spacious library with an impressive collection of books and reference material, good facilities, including a cafe, fast free WiFi, and an excellent ambience. Conveniently located in the heart of the city - you can combine your visit to the Library with the Auckland Art Gallery nearby.

Lots of good space for reading. They have a coffee shop attached. Free wi-fi is a big attraction.....and lots of students/backpackers use it. Also, they have a good magazine collection on ground floor and a newspaper room at the top floor. Many items are in "foreign languages" for various other language speakers. Very nice children's section. Staff is very knowledgeable... More

A clean, modern, cheerful interior with a feeling of open space. Lots of desks to study at, some with mains power, lots of chairs around pillars and against walls encourage sitting. WiFi is reasonably fast and free upto 1gb per day.

Went to the Citizens Advice Bureau (it's within the library), to have documents witnessed, While waiting had a look around. Good range of reference material. Unlike some libraries - the staff are very helpful!

We were visiting Auckland for a day from the Queen Mary 2 and looking for some High Speed Wifi to get over the slow and expensive connection on Cunard. We went to the Auckland Library - just a few blocks walk along Queen St from the waterfront, and asked at the front desk. They were helpful, welcoming, and suggested quiet... More

You have everything you need to spend time, even with little ones. Free wifi, a cafe on site for grown ups. Great interior for little ones - my older Pre-schooler son loves reading books in cave like (cushionny one!) sitting area. Staffs are kind and helpful. I used to visit there as a student - now I bring my family.

Don't pay for wifi in rip off hotels. Go to any Library in New Zealand for free fast wifi. Central Library in Auckland very good for free wifi. Check out opening and closing times.
