17 km drive on a well maintained gravel road and then a short hike to the caves. Caves for all here, from the experienced caver to children as there is caves you can see through and others that you will need appropriate gear.

On the drive from Gold River halfway to Tahsis check out the Upana Caves. It is about 2 km off the main road. And about a 10 minute walk on the excellent trails to the first cave. While I am not a “caver”, I did...More

Like others have stated the trail head is a little tricky...there is a wood post at the trail head that says CAVES. Getting to the caves is a short, easy walk and once there the caves are well labeled. Dirty and interesting, check it out.

You can drive up close to the Caves, but the Road is a gravel Road and it is bumby.. We went up there and it was heavy raining and our car was very dirty after the trip but worth it. Hope you will enjoy the Caves.
