We visited this garden on the recommendation of friends, and were not disappointed. A beautiful garden, packed full of a whole variety of interesting plants, plus willow sculptures. The garden is divided into several areas and we loved the natural planting and emphasis on supporting...More

On finally having a day free when they were open (note not open every weekend and then only for a few hours) we travelled the 20 miles to visit. We were then told that we could not use card to pay unless over £10 but...More

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. We are obviously disappointed that your visit was unacceptable. Whilst we appreciate the convenience of being able to pay for everything by card, we are a micro-business and are charged significant fees for every transaction,...More

Received a really warm welcome when we arrived and what a lovely garden to wander around. Not a plant expert, but enjoyed all the different aspects, and the ladies are friendly and approachable if you have any questions. Also, interesting sculptures throughout. Will definitely visit...More

The planting, whilst beautifully co-ordinated, is wild and free giving a totally different slant on the proverbial English country cottage garden. The effect is stunning and we spent a peaceful few hours wandering around before enjoying a cup of coffee and some home made cake...More

I've driven past the sign for this place so many times but, on a sunny day off work, decided to make a trip. The car park is a good size, just beside the gardens, and it's free. I was given a very warm welcome and...More

Even on a rainy day the garden was a pleasure to visit. Loved the areas set aside for wildlife which were perfectly blended in with the more formal parts of the garden. Liked the ethos of organic growing. So refreshing not to see slug pellets...More

Lovingly maintained and created with small honesty-based shop/cafe and some items for sale. Limited opening times so check before visiting.

Had seen the gardens advertised and as it was a sunny Sunday we decided to visit. What a revelation, hidden gardens at every turn, stunningly tranquil, great cafe with honesty box, bought loads of high quality plants at great prices. Highly recommended. Will be visiting...More

We visited this lovely garden yesterday for the first time, having seen a small article in the Yorkshire Post colour supplement and we were not disappointed. Far from it, we enjoyed a magical afternoon in this most enchanting and tranquil of places. Mr and Mrs...More

I first visited in May using my RHS free entry and was so enchanted that I came away with an annual season ticket so that I could visit more often. It's such a beautiful garden with hidden corners and different areas from the formal Rill...More

I can't honestly recall seeing any, nor any notices, but owner was lovely and friendly, I'd suggest phone ahead and ask. Would need a lead, so many wild areas they are preserving beautifully.

I think the safest bet is to check Stillingfleet Gardens' website - will definitely save a wasted journey; but if you've not been before well worth a visit.
