I found this place very enjoyable, because it is preserved rather than restored or rebuilt like many other sites in China. There are a lot of interesting buildings and architectural details. I was there at dusk and with my guide and driver, we were the only visitors. It made the place a little spooky, but thrilling.

Took a walk through the village, interesting architecture still very much in the northern style from where the TunPu people originate. Very interesting story of how they came to be in Guizhou. I love castles. Everytime I have the chance in Europe I visit some. This is the first time in China that I find a similar structure as a fortress on top of a hill and the amazing thing is that it is actually a Budish temple. The location is terrific, and the old temple is beautiful per se, having stalactites... More
