The total history the Sydney Mines and even surrounding areas. I loved coming hear. It is like going back in time. All the info you need. Very helpful staff that can lead you to other things in other areas.

We apologize for what you found at the local beach. Hopefully someone at the municipality will take issue with people dumping garbage on the local beaches.

You can take a guided tour inside the actual mine. Experience total darkness, see the trails made by the mules, contemplate the railway that goes miles underground and weep for those men who have been lost down there.

This comment was meant for the Miners Museum in Glace Bay, not the Cape Breton Fossil Centre or Sydney Mines Heritage Museum in Sydney Mines.

While visiting friends in Sydney Mines they suggested we take the time to visit this museum before carrying on to the highlands. We were not disappointed. What I thought would be a quick walk through a museum caught our attention and imagination for 5 hours....More

Too late to see the museum ...but what we did see outside of the museum before the concert looked very interesting!. We obtained tickets for the concert before we left on vacation, at a very reasonable price. A children's choir from British Columbia were preforming...More
