    Disappointing now
The pools now smell strongly of chlorine and the water isn’t as clean as it used to be. The saunas and landscape are still lovely but the overall quality of the experience is much diminished unfortunately. Still much better than any spring in nz but no longer the best. Sad
Hi There, Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your recent visit with us. Please rest assured that we do take the hygiene of our pools very seriously and pride ourselves on the cleanliness of our thermal mineral water. Our pools are tested hourly by our experienced Pool Attendants and this information is often used to make adjustments to the flow of the water depending on these readings. It's important to note that fresh mineral water is also constantly flowing through the pools during the day, and over a 3-hour period the entire pool is full of fresh water. For hygiene purposes, there is also a small amount of chlorine added to each pool, which is also regularly tested by our Pool Attendants. Your comfort and satisfaction are of utmost importance to us, and we regret that we did not meet your expectations on this occasion. We value your feedback and we are constantly striving to improve our guest experiences. We hope to be able to welcome you back again in the near future. Warm Regards, Peninsula Hot Springs

Overall an amazing experience, but please clean your tables!
The hot springs is always a trip to look forward to, and my stay was amazing as always! The water is lovely and I recommend the plunge pools. I do have one concern though: The tables at the cafe I went to looked like they had not been cleaned properly for a while, it was filthy!
Dear Leila, Thank you for your kind words and for choosing Peninsula Hot Springs for your recent visit! We're thrilled to hear that you had an amazing experience and enjoyed our rejuvenating hot springs, especially the plunge pools. Your feedback is truly valuable to us. We appreciate you bringing to our attention the cleanliness issue you encountered at the cafe. Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused. We take hygiene and cleanliness seriously, and your feedback will be shared with our team to ensure immediate improvements. We look forward to welcoming you back for another relaxing visit, and please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any further comments or if there's anything specific you'd like to share. Worth paying extra for the Spa Dreaming Centre if you actually want to relax
So first off the place itself is absolutely beautiful, stunning landscapes, and the series of pools is so nice, everything is immaculately clean, plenty of locker and change space, and has the potential to be extremely relaxing… However it was absolutely packed, including children running around, screaming, splashing - the opposite of relaxation. I annoyingly did not realise there is the adults-only Spa Dreaming Centre with limited numbers until after my visit, and I would absolutely return but would 100% pay for this option. I gave 4 stars because I can’t fault the place itself, but do be aware that if you’re an adult going for a genuinely relaxing day and wish to leave feeling better you should pay extra - I also went on a weekend which I’m sure contributed, so if you’re able to go during the week do that.
Dear xji9191, We appreciate your detailed feedback and are delighted to hear that you found our facilities beautiful and well-maintained. We understand your concerns about the overcrowding and noise levels, especially during peak times on weekends. We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused to your relaxation experience. We're pleased to inform you that we do offer the Spa Dreaming Centre, which is an adults-only area with limited capacity, providing a more serene and tranquil environment for relaxation. We highly recommend this option for guests seeking a quieter and more rejuvenating experience. Thank you for your understanding, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back for a more peaceful visit in the future. Warm Regards, Peninsula Hot Springs

Most relaxing day trip from Melbourne.
This is well worth a day visit from Melbourne. In fact it was one of the highlights of our trip. Not too expensive and the place has so many pools to choose from, with different views and temperatures. It also has a sauna room and Turkish bath room- both these have a cold plunge pool just outside. Once you find your ideal pool you can just lie there and relax or you can hop from pool to pool, as you please. The food choice is limited so consider bringing your own. It can get very crowded at weekends. Go on a weekday if possible. Night stays possible. Beautifully landscaped with great views.
Dear Travelogo, Thank you for taking the time to leave such a detailed and positive review. We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your visit to Peninsula Hot Springs and that it was one of the highlights of your trip. We're delighted to hear that you found the landscape and views beautiful, and appreciate your constructive feedback regarding food choices and off-peak bathing. We hope to welcome you back for another relaxing visit soon. Warm Regards, Peninsula Hot Springs

The whole experience was so disappointing from start to finish.
1. When first enquiring by phone we spoke to a male with a thick accent. He was lovely, friendly and trying to be helpful, so this is not a complaint about him, but our questions were lost in translation so he couldn’t give us a confident answer. I politely asked to speak to someone else to clarify our question but was told nobody could help us. I’m all for employing backpackers/travellers but they need to be able to communicate clearly with visitors. I’m sure face-to-face these accents can be more easily understood but on the phone they’re really hard to understand. This is not being racist, just practical.

2. We’ve been to the Peninsula Hot Springs many times during the day so this time we decided to try a night bathe. We were of the understanding that night bathing was for people 18 years and older. However there were young children and babies everywhere. Thankfully all of the parents were considerate and had control of their kids, they were pretty well behaved. We’re parents so understand it’s hard to get a babysitter but I don’t want to spend money on what should be a special serene adult experience, not a family outing, especially at night.

3. Unfortunately there were adults behaving like kids though. In lots of the pools, adults were either splashing, mucking around, talking loudly, using their phones and taking photos.
When we were sitting in the Hilltop Pool a lady was briefly watching the rugby on her phone and sharing the scores with her group. In the Turkish Steam (Hamamatsu) a lady was standing on the central bench, doing different posing stands and mucking around. All such disrespectful, inconsiderate and inappropriate behaviour. Phones should be banned in the bathing areas, they take away from the whole experience for everyone. The Springs are meant to be a special peaceful experience, not a playground.

4. It was so hard to navigate around at night. There’s good light along the paths at ground level but the signs and maps were dark and couldn’t be seen at night. I suggest putting lights on each map and sign so that people can read them at night. Being such a huge property, it’s easy to get lost at PHS and in the dark it’s even more difficult to navigate the pools and find the wellness centre, Spa Dream Centre, Cafe and toilets/change rooms. Even better would be coloured lines or poles/posts dedicated for each section so that you can follow them. At night, these colour coded paths could be subtle fairy lights or something similar to help guide visitors. On doing this you could name or identify each pool with a letter/number code so that they’re easy to find on the map.

5. There were rarely any staff patrolling the pools so nobody to answer questions, ask for navigation or alert when people were acting inappropriately in the pools. Surely for water safety there should be life guards or even general staff patrolling the bathing areas, especially because there are kids everywhere and there’s a pond near the amphitheatre that’s freely accessible to anyone.

6. The main cafe closed at 9pm but the night bathing doesn’t finish until later than that. Would’ve been nice to end our bathe with a nice hot cuppa. Thankfully we found the little cafe in the Spa Dreaming Centre which was lovely.
Overall, the facilities are lovely and clean but some work could be done on signage, lighting, staffing and behaviour management to improve the experience for everyone.

On Wednesday 14th February 2024 somebody used my card fraudulently to purchased a $100 Gift Certificate so I called them on Friday 23rd February 2024 and I spoke to a manager to explain with had happened but he refused to help me and he was extremely rude and abusive to me so I would definitely avoid this place.

What an amazing place, staff were very helpful and fun to be around. When you arrive you have not idea what is happening inside, but as you walk around you are enchanted by all the difference areas and pools. You have no idea how many people are there as the path to all the areas just flow and you can always find a quiet space. As well as hot spring pools they are hammocks, sensory pods (must try) and so much more, I have been twice and every time I find a new hidden treasure. Next time I will try the Glamping. This is truly well thought out and planned for the ultime expérience.

Moonlit bathing in the Spa Dreaming Centre is wonderful. 10pm til 2am with a limited number of people...Could only access 9 pools but was way better than being out in crowds with kids running around.
Beautiful setting, friendly staff (and ring tailed possums).
Was so relaxing - will definitely be back!

I honestly thought this would be a relaxing way to spend my morning, however NO!
Kids screaming and splashing around and dirty, chlorinated baths. If you want to relax, head to the beach 5 minutes down the road.
This place is a children's waterpark and not the tranquil experience they advertise it as.

Dear Kaitlin, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback on your recent visit with us. School holidays tend to be the most popular and busiest time of the year for us, attracting a higher number of guests, including families with children. If you prefer a quieter bathing experience, we highly recommend considering a visit during our off-peak periods, which are typically less crowded. During off-peak times, you'll have more space to unwind and fully enjoy our facilities. It's the perfect way to immerse yourself in the tranquil ambiance and make the most of your time at Peninsula Hot Springs. Ensuring the quality of our water is a top priority for us. Although we add a minimal amount of chlorine to the natural geothermal springs to adhere to recommended Public Health & Safety regulations, our Pool Attendants rigorously monitor this through hourly testing of each pool. Additionally, it's crucial to highlight that fresh mineral water continuously flows through the pools throughout the day. Over a 3-hour period, the entirety of each pool is replenished with fresh water. We hope to be able to welcome you back to Peninsula Hot Springs for a more relaxed visit soon. Warm Regards, Peninsula Hot Springs

I planned a trip for one of my participants who is in a wheelchair for a few months prior to going. I rang and spoke with someone to confirm he would be able to access the pools, or at least some of them. The receptionist said there over 70 pools and sites to experience with around 40 that he could access in a wheelchair. I rang again to confirm this information the week before and was told the same thing.
This was not the case. He could only access 1 pool. Only one pool with a ramp, everything else has stairs. The signage is poor as well, saying disability accessible but then there would be stairs. It was very disappointing.
DO NOT RECOMMEND FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES, ESPECIALLY IN A WHEELCHAIR
