This was a pretty short hike to the lake with lots of trees and a local woman we talked to on the trail said she sees bears here quite frequently. We saw no bears luckily but the trail had lots of bugs and mosquitoes, so...More

Gorgeous for a short walk to hang out at the water’s edge but not a good loop trip hike and not moderate (you have to climb huge boulders at one point and traverse a waterfall in another). If you want great views of the lake,...More

Take an extra hour out of your trip and enjoy the beauty of Fallen Leaf Lake. It is directly across from Camp Richardson and rounds out a great day.

We enjoyed the trail. The drive there is narrow and bumpy and worth it. Beautiful lake and waterfall. Stopped by the marina store to buy postcards.

Fallen Leaf Lake Trail provides a gorgeous view of the Tahoe Valley. It’s a beautiful trail, like so many in the area. Great for a little physical fitness or a little romantic picnic journey.

A lovely lake, walking along the shore on a sunny day, with wonderful reflections and then on another day with the wind howling down the valley, fantastic.

We have hiked this many times. A short drive from South Lake, but be careful as the road around fallen leaf can be narrow and some people are not good drivers. Drive to the end where there is plenty of parking and restrooms. Walk on...More

This hike around an Alpine lake is quiet and tranquil in fall. The leaves are changing colors and there is a crispness in the air. We saw fewer critters in fall, but the chipmunks are still active. The trail is packed dirt and has some...More
