- Melissa M1 contributionFantasticI had a great time with my 5yo son and all the staff were excellent. Jason was fantastic with his knowledge and giving my son the most of his experience there. And another lovely lady (sorry can't remember her name) who let me have a hold of the larger python. Exceeded expectations and worth the money for the full experience.Visited April 2024Travelled with familyWritten 18 April 2024
- Roger V12 contributionsDefinitely worth a visitWhen you arrive, the first thing you think is that this is a small place and that you will be in and out in an hour tops. And the truth is, it is small. Once in however, you are going to find the rays, sharks, birds, lizards, snakes, turtles and butterfly’s so interesting that the time will simply fly by and like us you will wonder where 3hrs went. The staff are super friendly and very helpful. Throughout our visit they would walk over and ask if we had questions, and without being asked share some really interesting facts about the animals. And don’t be surprised if you feel a tap on your shoulder and turnaround to find a member of staff offering you the opportunity to hold a lizard or snake. You can gently touch most of the rays and sharks, spend some time in the aviary with various birds who will sit on you and feed from your hand and eat some lunch (prepared on site) in a room with a fish tank ceiling. If you’re visiting the area I would strongly recommend putting a few hours aside to explore the Shark and Ray centre.Visited September 2024Travelled with familyWritten 10 September 2024
- LilySydney, Australia7 contributionsReally fun and different family outingI don’t know of anywhere like it! We all had fun - ranging from 3yrs to 70yrs. If going, really worth taking swimwear so you can get in the tanks and walk around with rays, sharks and eels! But very hands on even if not in the tanks. A cool and memorable experience, highly recommend. Thanks to Jason who wandered around with various reptiles to hold and answer any questions.Visited January 2025Travelled with familyWritten 15 January 2025

This is certainly a unique experience with being able to go into the water around knee height to touch and feed the stingrays and sharks.
This is a no fuss or frills place in a basic setting, you are given brief instructions when you enter and then left to your own devices. There were 5 different pools in which you could walk into.
Would definitely recommend paying for the water entry which was an extra $10, but was $152 in total for a family of 4, which is not cheap when compared to similar places nearby.
The price does include a 12 month pass to return unlimited times according to the website

Took my 3 boys ages 3, 6 & 8 and we all had a blast! Including lunch in the underwater cafe and butterfly house we stayed over 3 hours. The boys loved being able to interact with the animals and have Jason walk around with reptiles kept the day varied and interesting. As we’re only an hour away, we’ll def make use of the annual pass!

We went to Tinny's for Father's Day this year having never been before. We booked in for the combo experience of the shark and ray feeding and the butterfly house with included lunch. The animal experience was exceptional. We were knee deep in freezing water, patting and feeding eels, Port Jackson sharks and sting rays (barbs removed). We all enjoyed that part of it. The butterfly house was a bit disappointing as there weren't that many flying around. We ordered our lunch, but waited over an hour for it to come out. I understand they were busy but they didn't have enough staff on to manage the crowd. This place does have potential however. With a little more planning, more staff and a little bit of organisation, it could be a great tourist activity.

Smelt absolutely horrible and extremely dirty. The snarks (one species) had no been “rescued” - rather captured and put in a small filthy pool. Same goes with the two types of stingray. $25 to walk around looking at the same types of small sharks in murky pools was disgusting, and to add an extra $10 to stand in the water was ludicrous. I do not recommend this “rescue” centre.

I feel uncomfortable leaving a bad review for somewhere, but we didn't love our experience here. My husband and I were hoping to learn a lot about shark and stingray conservation, and the program run by the centre. However the information there was very minimal, with just one wall dedicated to general information about the different sea creatures. Staff were friendly, but weren't able to provide a lot of information about conservation work. The pools for the animals were small and seemed crowded, not a nice habitat for them. They spend all day being fed and patted by people.
The centre was packed, absolutely full of families and kids. If you want your kids to have fun and touch/feed the sea creatures, then you will like it here. It seemed well-priced for what they offered. However for us, it honestly seemed a bit exploitative of the sea creatures and left us feeling a bit uncomfortable. If the centre does do some amazing conservation work, it needs to be more visible to visitors.

Underwater cafe. So relaxing. Jason was terrific bringing out reptiles and an oran orange leaf insect, explaining and educating children and adults alike. The butterflies were stunning as was feeding the rays a sharks fun. Needing a walking stick, it was great that each room had chairs. The staff were all friendly ,cheerful and welcoming.

Very underwhelming… paid over $100 and spent less than 20 minutes there.
We went down the road to Oakvale wildlife, paid $85 for 3 of us spent the whole day there and had the best time.
We felt ripped off to say the very least. The shark and ray feeding was okay - once that was over it was boring. The butterfly room had 2, maybe 3 butterflies at most. The Avery and farm yard was next to empty.
Definitely not worth the price we paid. Currently waiting for management to review our email request for a partial refund.
Last year we went to irakanji shark and day encounter / absolutely worth every single cent. Sorry we didn’t repeat the visit there instead.

Unfortunately the family was really excited for an adventure to this wildlife park, but we left after 30mins very disappointed. The facilities did not meet expectations, the marketing is superb but does not reflect what is provided. Very expensive, over $100 for the family to see some rays and sharks and feed some grass to three sheep that are contained in a very small space. Once you enter, everything is done to upsell. As I said, great marketing for a tin shed with a few water tanks.

The 4 of us were disappointed with this venue. Although it was quite an experience to touch the sharks and rays, we felt that the facility is outdated and could be improved. Informative boards or screens telling visitors how and why sharks and rays are rescued and what can be done to protect marine life in the wild would make a big difference. The sharks and rays could do with having a more realistic ‘under the sea’ environment rather than the concrete canals they currently have.
Although the young staff were friendly, it was obvious that they may need training on how to interact with visitors who pay a substantial amount to visit in order to learn about these beautiful creatures. We were loath to pay extra to go into the butterfly house afterwards as our expectations had been crushed.

We went with our family of 4 plus some extended family. It was great being able to touch the Stingrays and Sharks etc but overall for the price it was really disappointing ($170 for a family of 4 including the butterfly section) one child was under 3 so he wasn't even charged entry.
If you gave a five star review you would get free food to feed the rays/turtles etc & this didn't sit well with us at all especially after paying so much for entry.
Despite this, the experience was pretty disappointing... There were only 3 Butterfly's we saw in the Butterfly area (which wasn't very big), the meal that was included was literally a hot dog with a few extra toppings plus a muffin & a drink... Hot dog tasted nice but the experience & food for us simply wasn't worth the cost of entry unfortunately.
Lovely staff, couldn't say anything bad about them individually but overall it was very unorganised, over priced & underwhelming..
