About
It is said that historical residences have a soul, but there are castles which are so old that their basis have been changed into roots, and their charm has been unchanged in the course of time. In the heart of the Verona plain, between the cities of Verona, Vicenza, Padova and Rovigo, there is an authentic castle of the fourteenth century: it is the Relais Castello Bevilacqua. A magic place suspended between the past and the present, a historical residence that hosts events and enchanting holidays. Let you be captivated by emotion, let you be seduced by tradition. In the heart of Veneto you are the guest of history, you are the guest of Relais Castello Bevilacqua.

Living my best princess life
Sep. 2019
During our stay at ‘The Bevilacqua’, my partner & I occupied Junior Suite Royal Francesco II and we felt VERY fancy. The suite shares its name with the eldest son of Guglielmo Bevilacqua who was the castle’s first owner (back in the 1300s). Amazing four-poster bed! As well as frescoed walls and renaissance period furnishings, Francesco II has all the mod cons; WiFi, TV, aircon, etc. Our room was so comfy that we massively overslept and almost missed breakfast the next morning, oops.

To make stays even more unique, Castello Bevilacqua can organise various optional activities. Some of the experiences on offer are an escape room, murder mystery party, private wine tasting or vintage car hire. We only stayed one night, but if we’d had longer, I reckon the escape room would have been fun. After seeing the well-stocked wine cellar, I also wish we’d made time for a tasting *sigh. Hopefully we’ll make our way back to Bevilacqua someday.

We had dinner at Ristorante All’Antica Ala in Castello Bevilacqua. Part of the fun of eating in a medieval castle is being surrounded by awesome antiquities like armour and weaponry. Our evening meal began with an antipasto selection of cold cuts and pickled veg. For main course, I had turbot fillet with pistachio crumbs and toasted almonds, my partner had the duck. We washed everything down with a bottle of excellent Valpolicella and finished with an epic cheeseboard. SO. GOOD.

Overall great experience! Bevilacqua is only 1hr from Verona and 10 mins from Montagnana, so if you're planning to visit either of those places Castello Bevilacqua is a perfect hotel option.

Interesting castle to visit
Sep. 2018 • Couples
This old castle (originally from the 1300s) is now used as hotel, restaurant and for various events. It is possible to visit it (entrance fee € 5 per person) if you are not staying at the hotel, both the castle itself and the gardens; also possible to book the restaurant or a wine tasting session. It pays to double check that there are no events, like weddings or conferences, in order to have access to the various rooms. Easy to combine with a visit to Montagnana nearby.

Beautiful Castle Stay
Dec. 2016 • Family
Stay one night in the Royal suit. Big beautiful room with attached toilet that come with a large Jacuzzi bath tub. Even tough we are the only booking that day (low season),, we receive excellent service from the staff. The Chef personal come out to welcome us at our dinner and prepare some wonderful dinner. The wine is free of charge. Price for dinner is reasonable.

I'm in love!
Sep. 2015
This castello has been lovingly restored and the special suites are magnificent for anyone who desires to spend the night in a castle. Things are done nicely and not "Disney" like, it's more like what one would think of when thinking of staying in a castle. It is "away" from the busy-tourist haunts which makes it a bit more romantic. The grounds are beautiful too. There are large reception rooms that are available for parties and weddings and meetings. This could be a great place for a romantic destination wedding. Can't wait to stay again! The restaurant is very good too, as is the bar.

Great Restaurant (and Hotel)
Jul. 2016
Great restaurant with one of the finest cuisine. The site is breathtaking and the staff well dedicated. Did not try the hotel (was told that it only had few rooms that are already booked for years to come)...

Fairytale castle with personnel and food a King would be pleased to have.
Nov. 2014 • Couples
Outstanding service, great food and romantic ambience. Would have preferred some light classical music such as Vivaldi or other Baroque music as the background for our dinner.

A great location
Mar. 2013 • Couples
A fabulous venue in rural Italy. We stayed 2 nights and visited Lake Garda. A lovely part of Italy. The castle was fabulous but just missed the mark in every way.

A long walk up a high hill!
Sep. 2012 • Couples
We took the long walk up to the Castello. It was a real hike. The steps continue and continue. The view from the top was beautiful.
