The bandstand itself is the nicest and best-maintained part of this park but the gates were locked. The nearby Vietnam War memorial was the only suitable place to sit on this side of the park. The other side of the park had an expanse of grass in poor condition but the playgrounds and benches around the edge still had a lot of people chilling out.

I took the train from Sydney's Central Station - its about an hour's ride. The bakery at the corner (A-One Cake Shop?) in front of the Cabramatta Railway Station was the first bakery I saw, and I was hungry. So, I chose the melon seed cake - delicious! I'd never had them before and later checked them out online - traditional Vietnamese moon cakes with melon seed paste. I wandered around the area of Cabramatta Freedom Plaza Gate, and it felt like I'd been transported to a different place. I've never been to Vietnam, but have Vietnamese colleagues who visit Cabramatta markets for delicacies not obtainable elsewhere. Lots of wonderful restaurants, and cafes. I checked out the public library and its adjoining cafe, the local supermarket, and enjoyed my visit. I will return.

In my first and only visit to the Cabra Vale Asian restaurants I found it initially quite attractive - nice Asian ornaments and ambience but the food is somehow inferior to restaurants on Canley Vale Road. It isn't bad food but it not well defined. The concept is fine, attempting to project an Asian image within an Australian club. Perhaps for the non-experienced the food would look and taste OK but I would prefer to eat outside. MigSydney

Awesome signature dumplings. Prawns and Oysters very fresh. Totally worth the drive. Great play area for young kids. Amazing fit out/ refurbishment. Some dishes on menu are not available at every counter so ask before you line up to make sure you're in the right queue!

I don't understand reviews saying they didn't feel safe .... my mother and I visited for for first time for her birthday .... we loved everything about our day ... fabulous food, cheap produce, and an overall fantastic experience! The locals were so friendly and welcoming ... can't imagine why anyone would not feel comfortable.
