Hot, but lovely view from the top
We went here as part of our day trip to several key Labuan Bajo / Komodo attractions. This was the first stop and it was already so hot outside, so I am glad that we went early. There are around 400 steps to the top, so a decent walk but nothing too difficult - just the heat is intense. There are spots of shade on the way up. Moreover, there are a few rocky patches but there are ropes/rails to use to pull yourself up during that time. It’s a lovely view from the top and worth visiting. If you can’t get to the top, that is ok too because there are viewpoints along the way.

    Handsome
The best option to visit Padar Island is to take a boat and stay on the boat for 1 or 2 nights because the hiking can be more relaxing. Can avoid traffic at the peak and avoid crowds. You can also join the tour for a full day but the time is limited to 30 minutes and if it's busy, 30 minutes isn't enough.

    Komodo National Park.
Stunning scenery. We enjoyed a great day visiting the Komodo National Park, seeing the Komodo Dragons, visiting Padar Island and Snorkelling with Manta Rays and Turtles. The day boat trip is a must for all ages.

Good scenery if you can make it to steps
we went as part of a day trip, so we covered this first. Still the heat was surprisingly high and the steps and crowd take a toll. The view is good from top and its debatable if its worth all that effort considering the entire trip around Flores sea offers equally stunning views. There is a small covered place to sit incase you decide not to trek. Dont regert if you decide to skip climbing and want to conserve your energy for Komodo dragons

It’s a steep and at times precarious hike to reach the main viewpoint, some areas abut abrupt drop-offs but they're ropes to grab onto. I’d recommend solid hiking or tennis shoes, only masochists would choose flip-flops. There’s intense sun exposure along the way so bringing water along is a must. A word to the wise, groups of party boats with hordes of young people congregate and ascend to see sunset from the top. Unless you want to share your incredible views with a mob and jockey for positioning along the narrow pathway, I suggest starting the ascent before 4pm. Depending on your agility and fitness, allow about an hour to ascend and 30 minutes to descend. Avoid the sunset crowd at all costs and enjoy the spectacular views!

This is one of the best view in Indonesia. It spend 2-4 hours from Labuan Bajo by boat depend on the speed of the boat and the wave. So, it will better to go in early morning to give you more time to explore the island and avoid sun heat and crowd.
From the beach you must walk up the hill via hundreds of steps. There are at least 3 stops that you can see great view, but I suggest you go directly to the top and enjoy the the other stops when you step down. At the top, you will see the famous triple bay of Padar Island.
After finish your visit, you can enjoy coconut at the beach. And if you are lucky you will meet some deer.

One of the island around Komodo Island. With good sand beach, and many deers around the beach. If we want to go to the top of the hill and see a great view of the island / beach better after 5pm to avoid strong sun light. There are a stair to walk to the top and don’t forget to bring mineral water. At the top, all the effort was paid and when the sun set arrived it’s so beautiful.

It is a famous island with a unique landscape located within the Komodo National Park. To get there you must first book a boat tour from Labuan Bajo. There are many options of boat company. You also could choose either private or sharing boat (depends on your budget). Its around 1-2 hours to get there… when you arrived (if you’re lucky) you’ll see deers looking for foods at the coastline. Then You’ll need to hike 20-30 minutes to get to the vantage points.. we were arrived around 2pm, it was so hot hiking on that time.. but it was paid-off!!

It takes about 4 hours by fast boat from Labuan Bajo to reach this island. If you use a slow boat, it might take longer. Prepare your energy to climb the hill through hundreds of steps through 3 posts on this island. You must not smoke, take out trash and do things "that injure yourself. Take care in your steps and follow your guide's instructions. The best time to go to Padar Island is February because all the plants are green and start leaving at 7 in the morning so that you don't get too hot later on Padar Island.

When you want to go Padar island, better start early morning about 5am or before so you can have sunrise at the top. Estimated time to hike to the top about 1-1.5 hours. Wear good comfort shoes is a must.

We went to the island by Kharisma tour, slow boat trip. We don’t like to visit too many places in one day as it is plan for trips by speed boat from Labuan Bajo. We visited also Komodo island and snorkeled at the Pink beach. We especially loved Padar island and snorkling near the Pink beach and would higly recommend this kind of trip. We should snorkel also with mantas but we were not lucky - they said no mantas today.

The most stunning place in Indonesia. Need 15-30 minutes to climb until the top. Tired because of the track and the hot weather, but worth to visit. The scenery is spectacular. The track is well-built and bring water because the track is far

We have visited Padar Island in November. In low season it's not crowded at all but don't expect a lush green island. Dry season is ending so all the plants are dead and the island is just dry and dusty. The view is amazing though!

Padar is the third largest island in Komodo National Park area and part of UNESCO World Heritage Site
Recommend to come very early in the morning to avoid hot sun burn, using a hat is a good idea. Trekking itself, is about 45 minutes to one hour. Slope is quite steep to get to the top, You had better wear sports shoes or hiking boots/slippers. Don't forget to bring drinking water if you don’t want to get dehydrated.
Beautiful view of four greenish-blue bays with multicoloured beaches will greet you.
