A small road bring to the "Gorges de Galamus", you cannot cross them with a camper (too narrow) but it is vey nice by motorbike, car or bike. The gorges are approx. 5 km long. A good panorama at the entrance on the south side (St Paul de Fenouillet).

An amazing drive along a corniche road that is so narrow in places that two cars could not possibly pass. The cliffs tower above you and the river is mostly out of sight far below, heard but not seen. The hermitage chapel is worth a visit.

We drove through the Galamus Gorge after visiting Queribus and Peyrepertuse castles. The gorge is traffic light controlled as there is only room for cars going one way at a time. The views are stunning for passengers but you can't stop for the driver to see the views too.

Free and yet so well tended. It's one way alternating traffic when driving through the gorges. That is most definitely a good thing as the over hanging rocks and narrow road would making passing an on coming vehicle a bit trick to say the least! The marshals are friendly and helpful and multilingual and once you drive through there are... More

You can go (slowly) by car, but expect to be blocked and have some difficult manoeuvres if you cross someone from the other side. Better to park from one side or the other and walk along the road (30-45 minutes go and back) looking at the river down down and the overwhelming rocks up up.

Came across the gorge by chance. Had visited Rennes le Chateau & sat nav took us on via this route. I loved the drive but passengers weren't happy :), especially the one who woke up half way through!

Drove through the gorge on the way to the Cathar Castles in the area. Well worth the detour! Amazing drive through the narrow gorge with very steep and large drops to the river below! Spectacular! Stop off half way through the gorge to visit the ermitage cut into the side of the gorge.

One of the highlights if you go there hiking or cycle. Breathtaking views, but be careful near the edge.
