Castillo de Monzón is a castle located in the upper part of the little town called Monzón. It is one of the many castles, which were built in 10-11th Century by Crusaders to reconquer Iberian Peninsula to the Muslims, located in the region. Helpful women at the tourist information . Walked from town and it was worth the effort. Great audio.

This was buiult just for defence. Nothing fancy just solid. Very much intact. Interesting artifacts inside.

Castles on hills don't get much better than this. Nicely restored but not over-done, as much or as little information as you want and no pressure to hurry round. You want to charge about pretending to fire arrows from the battlements? Go ahead. At 3€ per adult, this was cheap and fun with a spot of culture and history thrown... More

A massive castle on the top of a hill in the right centre of the town of Monzon, in Aragon, near the Pyrenees and well connected to Barcelona and Zaragoza.
