Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It was a nice quiet winters day and we were treated as very special guests. Our first winery visit on our Mornington Peninslua sojourn. Wines were great staff was very chatty and engaging..since this day we have purchased their wines several times!

We came for lunch. Food is pretty and tasty. A lovely place to dine and wine is pretty good too. We came by public transport, it is easy to get here, by train to Frankston station and cab here.

Had the most amazing meal at Stumpy Gully yesterday with a group of friends. The food was exceptionally fabulous, a really clever and original menu. The food presented beautifully like an art piece....and so delicious - I didn't want the meal to end! The service was also top notch, really professional, warm and friendly. Beautiful ambience also. Will definitely be back - regularly no doubt.

The food was exciting. It was creative and beautifully executed. Haven't had anything this good in a long time. This is not pub grub it is first class food. Whilst there was only a small menu it was perfect. The King Fish entree was delectable as was the BBQ squid, the Shoulder of Lamb was brilliant. A fantastic interpretation. One of my companions said his pasta dish was perfect and two other had magnificently cooked Duck. I finished with a Frozen raspberry Bombe . The meal was perfect. My only negative comment is that the meals are smallish and you will need some sides. We actually shared Potatoes cooked in Dick fat. Excellent. We drank Chardonnay which is one of the best I have ever drank and companions had Pinot Noir which was also a great style and taste. Staff were attentive without being intrusive. Highly recommend.

We went to Stumpy Gully as part of a wine tour and absolutely loved it. The man who was giving us the tasting was very knowledgeable and was more then happy to answer questions despite being very busy. We also got to meet one of the winemakers. The wine is very good and their tasting is extensive unlike some of the other wineries in the area. They manage to pull of a boutique feel despite being one of the bigger wineries we visited for the day.
Would definitely recommend.

I visited here today with my friend from overseas, my friend and I had both sleeping toddler, after unfriendly service we received at wine cellar we were walking out to the door. There was a chef and his friend? Talking “right next to the door” but they were too busy talking and they couldn’t even open the door for us (yes, we were both still carting sleeping toddlers) so my 4yr old son opened the door and held it for us. Worst experience and will not go back again ever.

We recently visited for my sisters upcoming birthday and were staying in MT Martha for the night. We initially tried to book at another winery but luckily for us it was fully booked! Stumpy Gully was amazing! Service was efficient and friendly with food being spot on. Thanks to a friendly patron who mentioned that the prawn and corn entree was the best she had eaten enticed us to order and it didn’t disappoint...spectacular! Thanks Stumpy Gully for a memorable day.

Superb winery and restaurant suitable for any occasion. On Sunday my husband and I with our family of 16 celebrated our 50th Wedding Anniversary at the wonderful Stumpy Gully Winery. Everything about the venue and the lunch was perfect for our family of 8 adults and 8 children. The venue lent itself perfectly - with indoor and outdoor spaces to suit both adults and children. The lunch was really scrumptious and the servings generous - 'top shelf' the adults agreed. The wines were of very good quality and complemented our food beautifully. Management was very accommodating and flexible to meet our needs and staff were very pleasant and attentive in a discerning way. Daniel, we thank you for your huge contribution to making this a very special luncheon for us - we were delighted with our celebration at Stumpy Gully Winery. We will return. With thanks, Anne & Greg

We have lived in this area for some 50 years and by chance today visited Stumpy Gully Winery for lunch and this will not be the one and only time. The outside patio area is delightful overlooking the vines and the restaurant is cosy, not huge, noise friendly and enticing for a very nice glass of sparkly and fine eating. I had the prawns and sweet corn and my husband had the Koo Wee Rup asparagus, both entrees delicious and very good sized portions. We both then had porterhouse steak, we did order roast potatoes and beans which we really did not need, as the steak came with nice sides it was not really necessary to order extras as you do in most restaurants today, but let me tell you the potatoes were fabulous. We shared a cheese platter, once again a great presentation. The entire meal was excellent and the service by the staff attentive but not intrusive, we were initially impressed that this morning when we made our booking we left a message on the answering service and we received a return call which started the day off on a nice note. I drank the Stumpy Gully Sparkling Pinot Noir Chardonnay which was delicious, bought a bottle on the way out to take home and enjoy, not sure what my husband had after his beer, but it was all most enjoyable so much so that we are returning Thursday with friends. Congratulations Stumpy Gully Winery so glad we found you. A truly beautiful property.
