About
Located on the foreshore of the Crookhaven River. Jim Wild's Oysters is a small family owned and operated Oyster Farm which was established in 1979. We are a working oyster farm and process all our oysters on site so you can watch us at work. Visitors can enjoy freshly shucked Sydney Rock Oysters or Pacific (when available) by the water or to take home. We also stock Fresh Australian Prawns. We are always up for a chat about our local Oyster Industry so come down and say G-day to Jim, Robyn or Sally.

    Lovely and fresh!
This is in Greenwell Point, so about a 30min round trip from the Princes Hwy in Nowra. Further than I was expecting, but worth the drive. Once in Greenwell Point, there was a sign at the end of the bitumen road, then onto a dirt track. All the pot holes were filled with oyster shells! Past several sheds, there were further signs to Jim Wilds. Plenty of parking. Right on the river front, there were tables outside with lovely views. A small stall selling oysters and prawns. A dozen premium oysters were $35 per tray and the regular size $25 per dozen. A bit more than I was expecting, but they couldn't have been any fresher.

    Yummy Oysters
Arrived at Jim's Oysters before they opened. Staff were so friendly and accommodating and opened for us. I even had a lesson on oyster farming. Bought 2 dozen. 1 dozen Sydney rock oysters and 1 dozen Pacific oysters. They were the best ever, and we come from SA, and we have great oysters too, but these were so delicious and creamy. If you are in Greenwell Point, don't go past Jim's Oysters

    A must visit!
Absolutely brilliant! I thought it would be good but it was miles better than I expected. It's not fancy, and more the better for it but the location is brilliant, tranquil and genuine, the oysters are divine (and I've had a few) and the service is great! Sally, Jim's daughter is incredibly kind and answered all my multitude of questions - thank you Sally. As foodies we've been to lots of great places around the world to eat and this is definitely one of my absolute favourites! A must visit!

    Worth going to extremes for!
We didn't let rain or floods keep us from our Jim Wild oysters. We left the car on high ground, wading through floodwater to pick up 3 doz freshly-shucked Sydney Rocks. Ate 1 doz at a damp picnic spot near Pelican Rocks then drove 1 hr home. Worth it!

We live in Wollongong and regularly drive down for a feed of Oysters. So plump and full of flavour. We get between 3 and 4 dozen and just sit by the river and enjoy the peace and quiet. You can also get prawns and fish. You can purchase soft drinks but can BYO alcohol.
Sally is lovely and always greets you with a smile.
If you are lucky enough you can still catch Jim there even though he is recently retired.

What a great little spot! Tucked away in a quiet area by the river, with nothing but the fresh seafood, clean air and sunshine, a perfect lunch spot.
We had prawns and oysters and they were all delicious. This place is probably packed in Summer and on weekends, mid week and Autumn it was great. Highly recommended.

Lovely oysters and fairly priced, we had take away, but you can eat on site by the river. I sent an email a couple of days prior to make sure they were open. Sally there remembered and called me by name, so, very friendly personal service was nice, Thanks Sally, we'll be back and recommend.

Worth the trip. Freshly shucked oysters and grilled oysters. Even with the world going crazy around us it was still a fantastic experience. Had a cosy spot in the sun by the riverbank to enjoy great friendly service and tasty oysters (and prawns). Wish we had thought to bring a bottle of wine as its BYO only.

We went to Jim Wilds Oysters on a recent stay in Nowra. We read about it through the Media and thought we'd give it a try. Well I must say in all of my 74 years I have not tasted oysters so good and my wife agreed. We even went back a couple of days later for seconds and even took some home to Lake Macquarie.

Greenwell Point has been long known for the quality of the local oysters, their availability is (rightly) linked to the vagaries of Mother Nature.
Good Friday presented Great Seafood at Jim’s oyster barn............without oysters.
The river was closed to oyster harvesting after recent flooding so their other seafood alternatives stepped up to star.
Beautiful prawns and scallops (grilled in the shell with garlic herb butter) accompanied by bread rolls and a “cold one” made for a great waterfront lunch.
Worth a visit whenever available.
