Very good elephant show, the grounds are nice, too. Had the elephants pose for pictures, and "kiss" my cheek with their trunk. Watching them paint is incredible....

I desperately wanted to see elephants while we were in Thailand but I was skeptical due to so many bad reviews about the abuse and mistreatment of these amazing animals. In order to not make a bad decision we would regret we asked our hotel to book us a tour of a respectable elephant camp. They selected Maesa Elephant Camp... More

This experience will scar me forever. This was booked though our travel agent, I specifically said we did not want to go anywhere where there were shows or chains, sadly this had both plus a very aggressive looking stick with a metal hook on the end which was used if the elephants did not 'perform'. One keeper was forcing his... More

The lady at the desk wasn't particularly friendly, and it cost a total of 1,600 baht altogether. 200 baht for entry fee each, and 600 baht each for an hour ride on the elephant. Just as you enter the 'camp', people are already trying to sell you stuff, which was unwelcome as you haven't even seen any elephants yet and... More

We went to maesa as we weren't so keen on riding elephants but still wanted to see them. We drove ourselves so it was only 200 baht to get in and 120 for the kids. It was a bit overwhelming when we arrived as we bought some bananas and sugar cane to feed the elephants and the elephant grabbed it... More

I like everyone else, had my ideas on whether we should go and support an elephant camp like this. I really was unsure and apprehensive but decided to go and see for myself. My family and I watched several of the elephants as they bathed and rolled around in the water, they all seemed to be very happy and enjoying... More

During my time in Chiang Mai the one thing I really wanted to do was see elephants. I am glad I visited the Maesa elephant camp, it was recommended to me and it definitely paid off. As with every place you visit, each individual will have their own opinions and like some things which others may not like. I was... More

Visited the camp. The show was delightful and the elephants were talented. No one seemed to be tipping the mahouts so I gave a small amount to 3 of them. But a fourth mahout decided he deserved a tip as well and had his elephant approach me and hug me with its trunk. Fun except I did not want the... More
