Our second visit this time with our grand-daughter. Started with the Yester Year guided tour. Well worth the entry fee as you hear a lot about the history of the property. Entry to the Chapel, Home,Laundry, Kitchen and Dairy. All the buildings have a great selection of furniture and items that were in use when the first owners were present. A terrific insight for youngsters to get a little understanding of the past. The blacksmiths shed was in full use as a group was being introduced to this trade. Many items are made and on offer to purchase. Next stop was the Tearoom. Light meals, cakes, scones available in pleasant surrounds. Finally we returned to the Museum section. An amazing collection of photos, clothing, artefacts etc as well as information about the early families who settled in the area. A gift shop, stocked with a large range of items is also worth a look. Highly recommend this attraction to anyone interested in how our forefathers lived and worked. All the people who have been, and continue to be involved in keeping this property open to the public are to be commended. The volunteers are doing a fantastic job.

Mont de Lancey is a beautifully restored small historic house, surrounded by many other interesting historic buildings. The house is central, but there is also an historic High Anglican cottage church, a working smithy, displays of machinery in various sheds. Overall the whole property is an excellent display of the local history. The highlight for us was the modern and comprehensive Museum. This area is fortunate to have been settled by a group of families who remained and whose descendants are still in residence, and the Museum celebrates these families and their achievements. It is evident that the volunteers who give their time to this local treasure are very dedicated and knowledgable. Congratulations to all involved.

We'd come out this way for the cherry blossoms and Googled places to visit and this came up. It's a cute property that's very orderly and well worth visiting at $10 for a guided tour. The house, chapel, kitchen and museum are all very interesting.

Went with friends to this old House and museum and spent a lovely couple of hours on a Sunday afternoon. Simple tea rooms offered soup, toasties, scones and cuppas. The blacksmiths were working in their shed and an art exhibition was being opened. As it was a sunny day wandering the grounds was lovely and interesting. We had a guided tour that opened up the buildings for us. There are also a gift shop. Prices were good value. A very pleasant visit as part of a lovely drive in the beautiful Dandenong Hills just outside of Melbourne
