About
The Snowy Vineyard restaurant and Microbrewery. Pop next door for lunch at the restaurant, partake in some wine tasting or maybe put down a brew or two. A beautiful Alacarte restaurant with indoor and outdoor dining. Go for a lovely stroll down to the river or over the hills after lunch. You don’t ever have to leave the property!

Lovely brewery with great selection of beers and wines. Staff always pleasant and accomodating. Beautiful setup with inside and outside tables to dine. Delicious food. Fabulous countryside view. Looking forward to our next visit.

This place is worth the dirt road to get there, not really that bad unless you’re driving a 911, and then it’s only the driveway that’s a bit iffy. Terrific hosts, fabulous location and great beers. Meals at lunch time are generous and tasty. Will definitely revisit.

We have been to this place many times over the years, enjoying both the beers and the food very much. Then there was a significant downturn, as the place transitioned out of the day to day control of the owner, into the hands of new managers who seemed to struggle to maintain quality in a number of areas. The new owners have turned this around completely.
Indeed, while the beers are as good as they were in the past, the food has stepped up a level! On our most recent visit we thoroughly enjoyed the fish tacos - very, very yummy! A year ago we would have been reluctant to recommend a visit. Now we can do so wholeheartedly! And we are back to looking forward to our next visit!

Quite pleasant when open. Despite their website indicating they are open they weren't which was disappointing considering the 15 km dirt drive. The owner? Who we passed on the road did come back and ask if we would like to have a tasting sadly food was the call of the day. Perhaps a sign on the Cooma road indicating open or closed would solve a pr problem.

After driving for ages on truly awful dirt roads we arrived to a sour faced old woman at the front door who said they were too busy to serve us - despite us having a booking! Eventually we got served and the food was just awful. Definately not worth the effort to get here. You are honestly better off going to the Dalgety Pub, Catcher and Co Brewery or Wild Brumby Brewery for a better experience and easier access. We will never be back and we have warned others.

3 friends and I purchased a Group on deal, with a value of $150.00. Upon arrival at the brewery, we all went in and for the next half hour, were all pretty much ignored. The locals were treated great but sadly there about 8 of us were ignored. I thought that maybe a welcome and a quick run down of the day was in order. A lovely cheese platter arrived and the first of the beer samples arrived. We asked whether our voucher worth $150 included lunch. After quite a bit of confusion and time, we discovered it didn't include lunch. An interesting tour of the little brewery (which did include unnecessary racist remarks) and then lunch which included some white & red wines. Our group was quite keen to leave at 4pm so we had purchased a few things. It would have been great if the group was given a heads up that the bus was soon leaving as another group of people didn't start to look until after 4pm. The driver did a great job in getting us safely back to Canberra in torrential weather. The beers were great, the company was great but the organization of this outing was atrocious.

I found a deal on Groupon: $49 per person for transport to and from Canberra/the vineyard, a tour of the brewery, beer, wine and schnapps tasting and a tasting platter. My husband, myself and one of my close friends (who had visited the winery with her partner twice before, once even staying overnight and highly recommended Snowy Vineyard to us based on her past experiences) booked the trip on Sunday the 28th February. There ended up being approximately 14 people that booked onto this tour.
The bus driver who collected us continuously texted on his phone whilst driving and tail gated cars in front of him. Unsurprisingly, the driver rear ended someone in Cooma, rendering the bus undrivable. Fortunately, the lady we hit and all passengers on the bus were relatively unharmed, bar some soreness, bruising and a fat lip.
We were stuck in Cooma for almost 90 minutes whilst alternative transport was arranged, and were collected by a lovely lady from Comma Coaches that drove us the rest of the way to the vineyard.
Up one arrival, a big joke was made of the accident by the staff member (I assume to be the manager) leading the tasting, and no concern was shown for the group in relation to the crash.
Throughout the beer tasting, priority was given to all other customers who had queries, and out group was left standing for long periods of time with no staff attending to us.
The tasting plate provided and the beers were all amazing.
Our meal orders were finally taken approximately an hour after we arrived, and we were left to our own devices, so we assumed we were to find a table to sit at, which we did. And each group from our tour sat at a different table.
My friend approached the bar to order a bottle of wine, and was again ignored in favour of other customers. We, giving the same staff member the benefit of the doubt, thought that this was maybe an oversight.
The wine tasting was provided at our table, and involved 3 wines, one of which we had already purchase to drink with our meal, so we declined tasting it again.
Our meals were delicious.
Our dessert orders were taken, and the lovely wait staff member (I did not catch her name) offered my dessert free of charge as they had been made aware it was my birthday, which was absolutely lovely.
After this, we once again, sat there waiting to receive some directions as to the tour or the schnapps tasting or the tour of the the brewery, at which point the same staff member who had led to tastings stated loudly in front of us to the staff member who had taken our meal orders that out group was not to receive the schnapps tasting as people who purchased the deal on Groupon took advantage and didn't purchase anything. My friend explained that we had a list of items we wished to purchase before even arriving (I, thanks to the recommendations of said friend, my list already included the pear schnapps, snowbucca, ginger beer, pale ale, highland Whisky and the sparkling) and that aside from what was advertised with the Groupon voucher, tastings promote sales. The staff member started arguing loudly, calling us cheap skates in front of other customers on the restaurant, then proceeded to the outside restaurant area to chastise the other people from our group and inform them that they would not be receiving the schnapps tasting.
Whilst finishing our dessert quickly, the chef came out and apologised, offered to allow us to taste some schnapps. She was the epitome of good customer service, and after a short conversation, offered a complimentary bottle of schnapps.
We decided to make our purchases regardless of our experience, simply to show this staff member that he was incorrect in his assumptions until we overheard him say something to other patrons along the lines of "only the people who buy this Groupon deal complain" (it stands to reason if they're the only ones you provide poor customer service to, then of course they will be the only ones to complain), and instead decided to save our money for our next trip to Orange, where staff at the wineries understand why great customer service and providing tastings is actually beneficial to their business.
Needless to say, everyone in our group quickly finished up their meals and left.
If it weren't for the two staff members who were so lovely to us, I would have only rated this experience a 1, and I'm sorry for them not to be able to receive the rating they deserved.
Not to mention the condescending email I received regarding final confirmation for our booking from the owner after an error with our first booking that we had to re-schedule.

I purchased a mixed dozen of Snowy Estate wines recently through Deals.acom. The RRP per bottle is $24 and admittedly i only paid $79 but i expected a drinkable wine, as advertised. The wine was totally undrinkable, and thats something for me to say that. I believe the winery had a bad batch and unloaded it onto consumers through Deals.com. I tried to contact Snowy Estate with no reply and sent a review to Deals.com. They then contacted me and said I didn't have a proper appreciation of wine as they sell to restaurants & didn't believe me. They REFUSED to replace the wine and said that was it. I offered to send it back for them to taste ( I was that confident that it was a bad batch). I also let numerous friends (who know wines) taste the wine and they all agreed with me. At a time when people are becoming more trusworthy of internet buying, this puts me right off. It is downright dishonesty.

It is set in a beautiful part of the Snowy Region. It is a little tricky to get to as the road into the winery was fairly well worn on our visit but if you can make it out there is it worth the drive. On our visit a live band was playing outside which just added to the experience. We had a three course lunch and each meal was mouth watering. The wine was very refreshing on a warm spring day and we purchased a number of white wine bottles to take home with us. This is another out of the way experience that is worth the drive but make sure to ring first to ensure they are open.

Too far out and not worth the aweful dirt road. Food was very average and again just isn't worth the drive. If you like nice wine don't bother, its all very young and not quite there yet. We did the tasting and they served us the reds before the whites, which is just a sign they dont really know what they are doing. The schnapps are also pretty average, you are much better off trying brumbies just out of jindy. The staff on the other hand are wonderful and very friendly.

Hi do they stock regional wines or only what they produce? What varieties do they sell?
