We took the boat tour to Tintoreras and had a great guide--Javier. He directed the boat to close viewing of penguins and blue-footed boobies. On land, we saw many baby iguanas, a yellow-crowned night heron and smaller heron, a white-tipped shark, and sea lions. There...More

With a kayak, snorkel, and tevas we could have done this in the bay without a guide. This is the only tour that I could have done myself.

We went with Pahoehoe for the afternoon kayak after we did Los Tuneles in the morning so we were exhausted. It was a small group of (10) and all double kayaks. We went nice and easy along the coast. Our guide was knowledgeable and pulled...More

Obviously there is not so much to do in Isabela, but we absolutely loved Tintoreras, including the snorkeling. Our guide was very knowledgeable, and give great explanations about the history.

A short boat trip from Isabella, this little island offers snorkeling, treks, and lots of wildlife viewing. Add it to your list of "to dos" when visiting the Galapagos.

We placed a lot of relevance to this visit, as it allowed us to see some of the must see species, like the penguins, sea lions, marine iguanas and blue-footed boobies. The boat was simple but functional, and we had a great guide, Minino.

We hired Pahoehoe to take us kayaking the Las Tintoreras. Our assigned naturalist, Ricardo, was very knowledgeable. We saw small Galapagos sharks, schools of barracudas, swam with penguins and sea turtles. It was my first time in a kayak so I opted to go in...More

We paid about $45 per person. You can pay by credit but they charge extra, about 20%. The person who said there is an ATM is wrong - there is no bank or ATM on Isabela. Best to take lots of cash. The Tintoreras tour is... More

Has anyone organised a tour to the Tintoreras once on Isabela, and had a knowledgeable guide? Also, can you hire snorkelling equipment and wetsuits on Isabela or do you have to bring them?
