Good drive, the Mareenie Loop road was not nearly as bad as we were led to believe, with an hour stop at Gosses Buff Crater (which is amazing) it took us just over 4 hours, not the 6-7 hours suggested. Note, you do need to get a permit to drive this road. The only thing to the aware of is... More

We visited the West Macdonnell Ranges on a 4wd camping trip with 2 young kids and thought the scenery was spectacular. Except for one rest stop, all facilities have been clean and kid friendly. There is lots of beautiful places to visit and i wish we had more than a week because its not enough !@

We spent the day with Matt on the West MCdonnell Ranges tour. What an excellent decision on our part. Most informative, scenic, exhilarating....I'm going to run out of adjectives. If you don't take this full day tour while you're in Alice Springs, then you are doing yourself out of a once in a lifetime experience. I learnt so much today... More

We loved all the Gorges and Waterholes here. Stanley Chasm was the only one we had to pay to get in which we thought was a bit rich, as all of the others are free and just as beautiful. The Chasm is beautiful but if you can be there at midday when the sun comes right in between the rock... More

This tour was with Emu Run Experience. Guide Kelly had good knowledge of the different places that we visited along the way. John Flynn memorial, Standley Chasm, Simpson Gap, Ellery Creek, Ormiston Gorge, Ochre Pits, Glen Helen. Lots of lovely scenery and easy walks. Morning tea, lunch and snacks ok nothing to rave about.

Had a good day driving to serpentine gorge, stopping at Standley chasm and Simpson gap as well, they were nice enough but the walks were boring and compared to the other national parks we've been in, the actual places weren't great. Exception was the lookout walk at serpentine gorge, that was a steep climb but well worth it and a... More

Tour arranged with Alice Wanderer. Fantastic day out, relaxed & unhurried tour with stunning scenery made even better by Toby, our driver & tour guide. What a superstar with his accommodating personality and great knowledge of places we visited. Keep up the good work. Thank you

This was a full-on tour of the mountains and river gorges along the West Macdonnell Ranges as far as Ormiston Gorge. Local identity Jim Cottrell drove us comfortably in the minibus with accompanying stories of his life in Alice Springs over 50 years, along with the history of the area and the native flora and fauna. Visits to John Flynn... More

Did both East and West ranges. Lots to do on both sides. East has Trephina Gorge as the highlight and Ross River Resort to stay. While the west has lots of stops - Standley Chasm the best along with a stay at Glen Helen Gorge Resort.
