Very glad we had a local friend lead us out to the site, doubt we could have found it on our own. Well worth the time and effort to get there though.

Impressive waterfall. You can walk fairly up-close to it (you'll get wet) and/or see it from the top on a platform. Good if you are in the area for half a day.

Lovely area, the falls are awesome. There is 250 steps to get down to the falls and another 250 up. There is shops and places to eat at the top. very nice area to spend time.

I went in November. The weather was a little cool, but it made it much easier to handle. The falls are breathtaking. They do overemphasize the fact that there was a movie recorded here years ago. I think movie or no movie, the falls are worth seeing for the natural and breathtaking beauty. You have to go down to the... More

Got there early. Short drive from Catemaco. Parked car and paid some pesos to have our car watched over. Some guy talked us into a guide. The guy escorted us to the entrance and expected a tip - oh well. No problems during our visit. Lots of people enjoying themselves downstream in the water or eating at the many eateries... More

We read the review warning about "thugs" but when we arrived, we stopped for breakfast at one of the restaurants, parked out front, gave a guy 10 pesos for the car (and when we got back he was washing it!) very friendly people and obviously an economically depressed area that needs more tourists and tourist dollars. Such a beautiful site... More

If you arrive at the falls by auto beware of the aggressive thugs in the parking area who will ask for money to "watch your car". We are seniors who did not submit to their demands. When we returned to the parking area we found that they had punctured our tires and had become even more aggressive and nasty in... More

The Veracruz region offers many natural attraction but I found this to be the most fascinating. I love waterfalls for one. I also love the nature and spending a few hours in the wild. This place allows you to do it comfortably. They offer a few restaurants and snack shops on site so you can just sit and enjoy a... More
