Great to see the Colombian countryside on horseback!
Nov. 2019 • Solo
This was a new ride suggested by my travel agent. Julio, the host, was attentive, easy to deal with, and prioritized safety. The scenery was lush, green and was so beautiful. The horses were easy to ride, alert, and responsive.

I would recommend this trip to anyone.

Horse riding from Oiba to Barichara

A wonderful 5-day-horse riding trip on very good forward going horses in beautiful landscape and through pittoresque little towns. Good local food in restaurants and private homes on the way. Highlights: bathing under a waterfall and eating ants, hormigas culonas. Our guide Julio and his team took great care of us. Highly recommendable for experienced horse riders.

Adventure of a lifetime
Sep. 2019 • Couples
We attended this ride in September and had fantastic dry weather, despite it being the wet season. There were 5 guests on the ride with the main guide, Julio, and two back up guides. This made for a very friendly and lovely ride. Accomodation was very comfortable, with some stunning views. Food was plentiful, as were snacks and beers! Reusable water bottles were provided and refilled for us to reduce plastic waste on the trip.

Horses too quality, well trained and were really well cared for, with their welfare as top priority. Regular checks were done on tack to ensure all horses were happy and comfortable.

There was a great mix of amazing changing scenery along the ride, challenging riding up the steps to calvary, and well integrated cultural experiences (including eating ants!!!).

We would definitely love to visit this exciting country and do another of Julio's rides in the future.

An adventurous and unforgettable experience

I've been to the Casanare and Santander trails. In both of them I was able to enjoy amazing landscapes, meet interesting people and ride great horses! The horseback riding was fun and challenging, and the horses were healthy and in good shape. I particularly liked the way that our group was connected to the local people and their culture. It was very interesting, fun and adventurous. Highly recommended for riders who want to have a special experience in Colombia!
