We had so much fishing with Captain Herman. We caught barracuda and dove for conchs. Captain Herman then came back to our house and cooked the food for us. It was the best meal we had in the Cayman Islands. It was so much fun...More
On our last day in the Caymans I scheduled a fishing trip for me and my sister with Captain Herman primarily based on the positive reviews I read on Trip Advisor.
Captain Herman and crew delivered in all areas. He arrived promptly with a big...More
After a busy morning of snorkeling and swimming with the stingrays, we needed something to eat. We passed Capt. Herman's a couple times, but never made the stop. Today we did, and we are so glad we did! I ordered the fried grouper with fries...More
Captain Herman was very friendly and knowledgeable. We did the afternoon charter and caught 3 good-sized fish. Captain Herman then came to my resort room and cooked them, along with all the trimmings (which I purchased). Great time!
My husband and son went for a morning fishing trip with Captain Herman. My son said it was the best fishing trip of his life! As they got on the boat, my husband mentioned that my son has always wanted to catch a barracuda. Herman...More

Our day started off with a half day fishing charter with Captain Herman and ended up with a fabulous dinner of the fish we caught, local lobster, and local conk prepared by Captain Herman himself. A great day!!!

The arrangement was made at the resort via their concierge (name starts with M") right beside the Reef Resort on the east end. I believe it was about $250 per person and ran about 4 hours, but you need to ask as the rates may change season to season there and he may require there be at least 6 people on board to go out. Keep in mind that you may not catch any fish, or you might overload the boat with them - it just depends. If you are staying up at 7 mile beach, the ride to the resort is about 40 minutes away. I was much happier down at the east end away from the crowds. You might also want to stop by the take-out on the road in "Captain Herman's Fish Fry" and check with his wife and see if you can reserve elsewhere - maybe through her - don't know, or she might put you in touch directly with him. In any event, give the resort a call, but I cannot remember the name as we did not stay there. The Reef Resort concierge could probably help you out with this also or direct you. It was just great and very nice folks.
P.S. While I was there I ran into a time-share owner that was taking a fishing trip w/family using some other vendor and the rate for her was almost double what we paid. She said they are on the island 6 times a year and next venture would use Herman instead.
