The temple in Sringeri Shankara Mutt next to Sharadamba temple. The Shiva idol in the sanctum sanctorum and carved pillars and the dance hall are super. You need to limb some seven to eight really big steps to reach the temple. Go round the temple to see the carvings. Also you can see the river and the mutt premises from... More

The Vidyashankara Temple was built many centuries back. The unique monument built entirely of stone combining both Hoysala (Chalukya) and Dravidian architectural styles. Tunga river flows at the back side of this temple.

First of all I wd request TripAdvisor to combine Vidya Sankara Temple also under this head. Both are one and the same. Vidyasankar Temple Sringeri is a master piece in architecture built in 13th century by a great Sankaracharya of Sringeri Mutt, Vidyaranyar. The Dasavathara n intricate workmanship on hardstones, speaks volumes of the skilled Sthapathis of those days. Located... More

Beautiful temple. Lot of carvings and sculptures all around the outer wall. Exquisite carvings on the inside of the temple too.

This temple is a part of the Sringeri Temple. The structure is old and beautiful. It has a nice architecture. The climate is cool and one can spend time by sitting around the temple and relax

Was very crowded when I visited (December). Small temple. Spent some time in the nearby bathing ghat and feed the fishes as well when you visit.

I was mesmerized by the peacefulness and the serenity of this place. There were children chanting vedas which added the spirituality of the sanctum sactorum during my visit. To add Sri Vidya Ganapathi Idol in this complex was one of the beautiful mahaganapathi idol I have seen in my life.. Must visit.. No darshan Queue.. No special fee.. Just enjoy... More

The temple is open until 9 PM in the night and opens by 5 AM in the morning. We had a very good dharshan and some food in the temple. In the morning, we reached the temple for another quick dharshan by 5:45. We were the only devotees in the temple. So calm, serene and super dharshan of Lord Sharadamba,... More
