Beautifull public gardens en cafe terrasse

the gardens are public and very beautifull. Take a stroll though the beautifull landscape and perfect cut trees. End with a coffee with cake or wine with cheese at the cafe!

About 15 minutes by car from Huis Doorn you'll find Amerongen Castle (Kasteel Amerongen). Kaiser Wilhelm lived here for before he moved to Huis Doorn. He was the guest of Count Godard John George Charles van Aldenburg Bentinck. The castle is extremely well preserved and well worth a visit. We had a very informative guided tour. About 180 volunteers work... More

Beautiful castle with clear and elaborated history. It's engaging and fun with different costume you can put on for photos. The surrounding outside the castle is worth a walk. Little cafe is nice to sit down for a cup for cappuccino. Will be back again.

I am glad it is still a museum. A few years ago the funding was in doubt. But this time we dit the gardens only, and not even all of them. The castle grounds are worth spending some time in. The grounds are lovely and well maintained. We really enjoyed our walk over the grounds. The storks are still nesting on... More

Interestingly thee Stable house is more well maintained (because they run is as a cafe now), than the interior of the main castle building. You castle entrance free is including the guided tour in Dutch, but they have some English subtitle video for you to watch and leaflet to read as you walk about the rooms they lead you to... More

You wouldn't say it from the outside, but the rooms are as splendorous as any castle's. Kaiser Wilhelm's stay here after he fled from his Belgian headquarters to the neutral Netherlands (end of WWI) makes for some nice stories. The room and desk where he signed his abdication are still there. I'd recommend combining a visit here with a visit... More

I didn't go into the castle, but the grounds around it are well landscaped and peaceful. If you are in the area, this is good for a nice walk for an hour or so.

Beautiful location in the centre of Holland for your business event or meeting. The Castle has a rich history and is wonderfully renovated and fully equipped for meetings and events alike. Also a nice place to visit in your free time.
