Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

There are various antique sites on the north-west coast of Turkey (mostly ancient Greek cities) but this city is particularly important as it was once planned to be the capital city of eastern-Rome empire (which was later selected to be Istanbul). It is also close to the famous (Troy) ancient site. The research is still ongoing, there is a small visiting area but it is worth to visit to understand the rich historical culture of the region.

We took our family to this little seen ruined city. What an experience. There was a guide from the university there. He took us around and in perfect Turkish taught us all we ever needed to know about the old city. He was passionate and enthusiastic about the site. He unlocked the gate to see the wonderful marble columns. He showed us the theatre in the back and explained how it looked out over the view. Our youngest child learned about stinging nettles that day and our oldest was excited to see a picture on the man's phone of a bust of Alexander the Great that was found! Take the time to see this site and to drive along the road looking at all the arches and pillars. It is worth the time and a tip to the university guide!

This ancient city is located 1.5 hrs away from canakkale city centre. It is in the village. People are friendly. It is already protected city. Archaeological ex. still working in summer. Name of the village is Dalyan.

This is ancient Troia city. It was very hot but it is a great outdoor exhibition of ancient ruins. They have the replica of Troia horse.

We found this place by accident while driving south from Canakkale to Babakale. On the right hand side of the road is a small car park. The ruins adjacent have some of the best friezes we saw in Turkey. This is a fenced area with mown grass and you can walk amongst the ruins. We were the only ones there.
The real surprise was about half a kilometer south from the car park on the left in the bush. We found huge arches (about 20m across) and the ruins of market stalls along a track that was once a road.
We thought this was a highlight.

My Villa is closeby and I have been visiting/passing this Site since 1988. A great shame that the wonders that are no doubt hidden below have not yet surfaced. Fortunately, in 30 years of watching developments little damage has been done by Visitors though some archways are becoming very precarious.

Great site to see. History of a time and tales of heroes and myths as to which are true who cares as the site is outstanding. Through its various builds in time. Well worth a visit.

This is an active dig site. We were the only people there and could take our time and lots of pictures without other people in it. Don't miss the arches just down the road.

Hahah, nothing; Therefore, nothing to comment on... I can only say that the ministry needs to make urgent improvements. The system never works properly in this country.
