Just to the East of Knysna, at the end of a dirt road, lies Noetzie, a secluded beach which is proudly encircled by castles. It is one of the last remaining homes for the very rare African Black Oystercatcher and is therefore a conservancy.

Just east of Knysna and driving by a township and the luxurious Pezula resort, you reach a parking lot from there stairs go down to one of the most beautiful beaches and most quiet , no one there basically on weekdays, you must see this.

The last time I was there my mother carried my pram down. This time our running club completed the Knysna Forest half marathon and decided to have sundowners on the beach.......down, down, down we suffered and up, up, up we suffered, but we were all elated to have experienced the beautiful beach and surrounding castles. Think we want to book... More

Pun on the word walk. It's a steep down but even harder up. Not bad though and definitely worth the view and a stay on the beach. Water was cold in middle of winter but nothing like Camps bay cold. Beautiful castles and long flat beach. Would be nice to spend the day in Summer.

Noetzie beach is one of those unforgettable and special places which leave us with everlasting memories on each visit. My husband and I had the pure pleasure to visit Noetzie beach during our recent stay in Knysna. The off ramp to Noetzie beach is on the right just as you exit Knysna town (N2 to Plettenberg bay). It is a... More

We stayed in a house here right on the river & just meters from the beach as well. The hikes on the beach & thru the forest are superb. We saw monkeys & baboons daily as well as mongoose & a myriad of birds. There is lots to do in Knysna nearby as far as a great historical museum, harbour... More

We stayed at the Conrad Pezula, which offers a shuttle bus to this beautiful, unspoilt and largely deserted beach. The children adored it for the surf, the sand and the hermit crabs. We adored it for its tranquility and the amazing photo opportunities. The 134 steps up/down from the beach (and the 400m steep walkway up further to the car... More

If you are planning on spending the day here pack light. It. Is a long trek from the parking lot to the beach (I suppose not that far if you are super fit). It. Is worth the trip though. I have never seen more than 30 people on the beach at a time so should be quiet whenever you visit.

If you haven't been here before, you have to make a plan. This is most certainly one of the most beautiful places you will ever get to visit. The beach is something from a dream, the castles make for amazing photo's and this is the perfect spot to spend the day and do absolutely nothing else than relax. Photographer's will... More

This has to be one of the best beaches in South Africa. It is secluded, natural and not overpopulated. The waves are lovely and the beach has beautiful soft sand and a stream winding its way to the water. If you are not with the Conrad Pezula or staying in one of the other lodgings/castles, you will have to park... More

A truly beautiful beach with the famous Noetzie Castles on the beach. We did not swim and not sure how great it would be as there appears to be a very strong rip tide here. No life guards on duty the day we visited, but we just went for a stroll. But a word of caution, you need to be... More
