Went here recently with 4 young children. Signs stating no picnics in play area, the children and I wandered to see the animals at the top area, all required a drink after running around for ages, and a small snack, with one child who suffers with hypoglycaemia this was very important. We sat down on the grass for a quick drink and snack, only to see a very angry man coming towards us (assuming the owner) he shouted at us ‘that picnics were not allowed!’ I replied we weren’t having a picnic but a brief snack - his reply, shouted very loudly, ‘I don’t care what you’re having, there’s a restaurant down there, and that’s where you get food and eat!’ All this aggression in front of the four young children.
Will NEVER be returning again.

Simply adore this lovely place. The staff are lovely. Chickens. Ducks A few other little animals. Don't go before saying hello to the horses, Jasper, Hunny and Charlie. Also Teddy the baby pony who will soon have a baby brother or sister. Love this place. Xx

Needs to learn how to treat staff as they only employ people that are obviously very young so they feel as if they can intimidate them. most people in my village don’t have one good thing to say about this place now. As I know of now, several people have left because of the way they were treated. There is one member of staff which is particularly judgmental and made not only me feel uncomfortable but other people that were sitting in the restaurant feel the same. One of the staff members lives in my village and explained how horrible it was and how they never get any good feedback from the managers, they only get moaned and shouted at. It sounded like a form of bullying. The food was cold and took about an hour to come out. Asked for some coffees and they were even later than the food. We were made to feel like an inconvenience to them which makes me never want to give a penny to this business again. When walking around the garden centre we saw the food being handled WITHOUT GLOVES! All the food was being handled with bare hands which is VILE!!!!! I also asked for some ketchup and they said I can only have one sachet or I have to PAY?!? There we quite a few of us and only have one small sachet is quite disgusting really. Has the potential to be an absolute lovely little place but seeing as it’s in Chilham it’s not going to take long to get a bad reputation. Another thing, the bread was awful quality and was not fresh by any means. I hope they end up fixing all of this and this review is not aimed at everyone of those staff members but two in particular need to sort this out and their attitude towards customers and their staff asap. Won’t be coming back and I know many other customers they have lost around my area. Not a nice environment at all and I can see why they have a big staff turn over!

Cracking Badgers breakfast this morning.
Very tasty, not greasy, and well worth the money. Really nice place to visit.

We are regular visitors of badgers hill farm, the most recent being a cream tea for mothers day.
Each time is very pleasurable, the staff are always welcoming and friendly. Food is delicious, especially the vienese whirls!
Good choice of plants and good value.
Lots to do for all ages, play area for young children and great if your an animal lover.
Plenty of free parking.
Definitely recommend a visit, just don't eat all the vienese whirls!! 😂

Popped down for a bit of lunch, was relatively busy but the managers seemed to be treating the staff which looked no older than 17/18 absolutely diabolically, the poor girls that worked there were getting no end of grief from what appeared to be the two managers. The sausage rolls were still a little raw, and the food was brought out cold after a 30 minute wait and then the manager was seen in the tearoom being rude again to their staff as they didn’t leave without anything in their hands. Very crowded and were made to feel uncomfortable at the till when asking for some extra sauce. Managers didn’t seem to want to help their staff and it is clear they were clearly struggling.
Missed the old shop and how it used to be, wouldn’t come again.

Lost its quirkiness.
I have been a visitor to badgers hill for many many years, these owners are trying to rectify the mess left by the previous owner who had cut orchards down, the animals were not as cared for as they should have been.
Now it is looking like your average garden centre, the trees are expensive £250-£500 not sure whose budget this is for, the place looks cluttered now too, a lot crammed in to small spaces including the pathway to the geese, Capybara and emu's you have to fight through the mass of trees.
The quirky shop that sold various unusual and different gifts has gone, it's now a bar. The tearoom is there (although our order was wrong-no milk with the tea, child's drink not brought out when told it would be and large coffee was small) there is one of the owners walking round just looking at everyone in the tearoom probably making sure it's cleared and tidy but felt uncomfortable as she did it a few times.
The greenhouse (I once sat next to Vic reeves here) where you could sit and enjoy your refreshments has been gutted and again more plants. I get it's a garden centre but it was also a nice place to go, meet friends, relax and purchase reasonably priced plants it's lost that feeling.
The field that was close to the park which had the donkeys and pigs is now a carpark! Why not keep the cars on the tarmac part rather than damage a field. The animals are further down at the end of the carpark so you have to walk your children through the carpark (H&S?) There is a sanitiser as you can stroke the sheep. You can't get near the donkeys and the chickens were in their wire coop (probably due to the complaint made by a neighbour)
Good work in progress but not somewhere I feel has the same appeal anymore.

We popped in for a spot of lunch and a wander round the garden centre and we were blown away. The food was absolutely amazing, cooked to perfection and generous portion sizes. We will most definitely be back and recommend to all our friends. Amazing service and a lovely atmosphere, Thankyou once again.

Simple food, freshly made. Good portions and nice to sit outside and watch some of the animals and see the plants they have for sale.

Really enjoyable time- food was tasty, the plants are amazing, the cutest bar, lovely donkeys (and other animals- all of which have lovely space), friendly staff! Will visit over and over and recommend to all our friends! The dogs had a “puppichino “ which they loved!

We went a while ago, but I believe it was free. Otherwise my parents cheekily paid for us - it would be advisable to check their website, in case I am wrong or was kept in the dark on the day of our visit!

Why have you let this place go to ruin? We used to love coming to you, but rude and incompetent staff and high prices have put us off. Please train your staff and maybe offer a discount for old customers to return?

This isn't a question for me, I'm not the owner, just a casual visitor. Obviously, time of year makes a difference to facilities, but don't excuse staff rudeness
