Shame really. Rarely open but if the owner is always at home and needs his home to himself then even people walking in the garden is annoying. The house looks nice from the gates. Same view as the photo.

We had hoped to visit Chilham Castle which is a beautiful Manor House dating back to Norman times and giving great views across the valley of the River Stour. Unfortunately it is now not open to the public.

Disappointed for we was looking forward to visiting the castle. But it is not open to the public, only the garden and that is only on certain days

one of life's hidden charms, well worth a visit as part of a visit to Canterbury or nearby, can see why its used for film shoots including the top gear jag shoot and many historical dramas, nice pub and church in the square.

This is the jewel in the crown of Chilham village, it looks mesmerising from the outside. When it is open it is well worth a visit.
